The UK/European migrant problem

I'm an advocate of taking fingerprints (thumb print) of all travellers.
The technology was available in the mid 90 that I know of. I imagine it has been refined and improved since then.
A thumb print would make passing through ports of entry much quicker for returnees, and weed out the non entitled.
They do it in third world holes, both entering and leaving, so why not the UK?

@Bravo_Bravo can you take your handbagging to the poo poo head thread
Actually it's been both, because neither side have been bothered to sock it to the EU. It usual defeatist bull ordure of the Can't fix, ignore mentality prevalent in the fight against drugs. The fact that it isn't good for the mental well being of either the migrant or the recipient communities has been completely overlooked. Have you noticed that the within the migrant issue, Romanians Poles etc are not classed as Europeans etc because apparently it doesn't suit the Europeans to do so, yet according the EU law they are. That's a complete mismatch.

And lets be clear just because the gangmasters and the illegal traffickers make a profit doesn't automatically make them Tory and the narrative is they are actually helping people to their aspiration which is an apparently "Humane socialist principal" and guess what, the Luvvies fall for it in their droves. In the Calais context the French Government have collaborated- yes Collaborated, socialists the lot of them and the glitterrati have compounded the issue by demanding we ignore the rules- that the EU themselves agreed to. That's another mismatch

Gangmasters legislation is Socialist and they are supposed to enforce controls laid out by the Government but have been latched onto by the traffickers. Many work in POW conditions ( apparently acceptable) and are working to pay the traffickers and that's just the "legal side"

Now Labour say they will pay £10.00 per hour and guess what they're rubbing their hands in glee cos the income will go up. subsidised by---- another Labour Government.

But where's the Juxtaposition... Oh yes we're under-resourced at the Police level, have you noticed how borders have been quietly airbrushed out of the scene. The Almighty Police squeal and the Politicians Jump for PR effect.
NCA , SOCA as was, portray this as Tory Austerity., ....... don't tell anyone but Labour got rid of 12,000 staff working on the borders in 3 years and the police have to deal with the upshot. In the meantime K Vaz esquire was telling us how stupid the HO was and the PAC was telling how naff the Treasury was.

Then in short order it's Labour bailing out the Banks to the tune of 127 Billion and signing the Lisbon treaty and destabilising the ME. 2008 a Watershed year.
They choose and continue to ignore, the warnings about cutting immigration and border staffing yet all play stupid as to why the general population across many differing demographics are fed up. Its almost as if the people and drug traffickers and there supporters are all Labour voters.

They are playing a dangerous game also by labelling any criticism of migration as far right. Plainly they enjoy using minorities and the working classes as ammunition, to bring down western liberal society which they despise in the drive to impose a socialist utopia, which will only be a utopia, for card carrying party members.

Yikes that's just like Stalin and Adolf's paradises.

Its rather sad that, we as a nation that outside of the 2nd world war, didnt realy do carrying of 'Identification card' or the like, I agree that those days are gone. There is of course a danger particularly with large scale security databases which are provided by the lowest bidder.

Its somewhat of a Hobson's choice.

Well it’s a neat fit, human rights, personal rights, resistance to the applications of laws is broadly a socialist principal. The fact that people’s actions may have consequences for the wider community is never considered, but between fixes they go to extremes. I mean don’t get me wrong if they want to tax me 100% fine, it effectively cancels out, but I would demand what I want on demand. That of course is an extreme. The conservatives consider little Government the way forward and in general terms I have no complaints by that, but why on earth they would expect migrants to change overnight and fit into an alien society is beyond me. That requires a little more input. It doesn’t alter the fact that if the state takes more responsibility, it must enforce it. We have’t Got the balance right. Given the current attitude of Government to public services it’s unlikely to change. But then it’s masked by the intelligence led mantra.

@LeoRoverman. Using the mask of 'intelligence led mantra' is a big old bucket of sick. We all know you also need boots on the ground to action intelligence.

That there is a landslide of information has to then be analysed by the same small number of those in the SIS, police and immigration agencies responsible for having to wade through, and that there are also less boots on the ground to act on it is, ignored by those who claim to know better.

Smugglers will always find areas that don't have physical or substantive security, with all the intelligence gathering in the world being fine if you want to bring someone or something to book, but has and continues to be, not to be a fast solution.

I have always thought though that its a equal win if 'someone' just cant get in, be it with booty or evil intent in the first place.

and it was what we had to put up with in those days under Labour. It was the mask for axeing jobs and the PFI initiatives for computerisation. We told them that back in those days and we were considered reactionary anti progressives, when in fact they had no answer to the exponential growth in traffic and trade that was the container and airline industries. What they forget is we saw the birth of that in the 70's and 80's when plod were still using pyes and pandas. They can't fool us so they'd rather be rid.

Two very different worlds, although they both called themselves socialists, when they were in fact almost at opposite ends of the spectrum.
Indeed the political spectrum is rather horseshoe. Regardless both are authoritarian in nature, and impose a central economic system that pretty much fcuks everyone apart from party members.

Both share worthless ideologies, built on utopian drivel and always fail but not before murdering millions.

I think there should also be another consideration wrt immigrants (often of a certain hue) who take up jobs here.
A question of reliability, ability, willingness and loyalty.
If you need a bum in a seat with very little requirement for proactivness or ability, then then fair enough. The harsh truth is though - if you employ Festus, recently arrived from Nigeria, he's not going to give a damn about your operational requirments, will play fast and loose with punctuality and - the moment any aspect of the work takes him out of his comfort zone (default level - breathing in his own farts for 12 hours sleeping) - he will walk away.

I work in the security industry - I deal with the tenders and the later on inevitable complaints. If you gave me a list of 100 guards - I reckon I could predict with 99% accuracy which ones will either be late, miss checkcalls, not turn up for work claiming they never received their roster or-the day after payday - phone in with "I have to take my daughter to hospital".

I'm being brutally honest here, in my sector, out of 100 employees who are immigrants, maybe only 5 or 10 are worth more than being just a 'bum on a seat'.

@Joker62 and @BugsyIV - who can probably post an illustrated phot exemplifying the above points I've just made.
