The Taxman should be all over then like a rash. Cash in hand businesses feed into the Tax Gap (the difference between the estimated tax that should be collected and the actual tax collected).
The Tax Gap is about 5-7% of potential tax collection which is a huge about of money.

We need more tax collectors, more police and the will to collect tax and prosecute tax evasion.

Yet the answer appears to be "don't bother, too difficult".

We've all heard tell of the petty-minded vindictiveness of HMRC when they've got some ordinary taxpayer pinned against a wall of bureaucracy, yet we hear of little to no action over the crims who piss on HMRS's back and tell them "Just rain, boss - no spik eengleesh pliz.", and if by some miracle, a nail bar closes, it's back as a barbers the following week.

Never mind lessons learned. Some P45's need to be handed out for these blindingly obvious abuses of our tolerance. Whoever allowed these men to start school need to spend the remainder of their working lives performing menial tasks, for minimum wage, on zero-hours contract, during anti-social hours.

We don't need to spunk more taxpayer's money up the wall, rather we should expectdemand that those whose job it is to enforce the law do so without fear, favour or let-up.

Then you need some to do it, because at this point in time, thanks to the Blair regime we are limited to the honesty of traders and formulaic declarations and the button pushers. People like me were got shot of or repurposed. HMRC is IR writ large and they have always been somewhat different in mentality. And we all know the fear or favour issue largely tamped down by institutionalised don't look now cronyism that makes a mockery of Apoliticism. And yep, you will have to pay them a living wage and that's going to come from the public purse. But then we're having to pay for the expanded NHS too. So perhaps the simple answer is 100% tax and all free on the state no bills to pay- how very Marxist of me.

There is of course a paradox in all this. When Blair got rid of us we cost the tax payer something like 1.75p in the pound. Now having to replace all that infrastructure is gonna cost Billions, and guess who's not going to get a slice of the action?

It's odd, not really, but a lot of these places are cash-only if you order over the counter but have a thriving online delivery service. Local authoritiea should get off their knees and physically get in there and see the scam that a lot of these places are.

Just the kind we used find on a Singapore or Vietnam trip, taking the money out to gamble. If they won , win win and they can’t resist gambling. When you consider the rate of breeding, hence massive numbers increase in their populations, its no surprise. Most of Western Europes populations (without incomers) had stabilised or even started to decrease a little in the '70's, it's the third world that is breeding us into extinction..

Aparently Ni left China in 2006 and obviously did not learn English because the proceedings in court were translated for Ni and her husband in the dock by a Mandarin interpreter. Hopefully she paid for the interpreter herself.
