The truth at last - You all love Liverpool FC

Schweik junior, a Liverpool fan, was going mad throughout most of that match. Liverpool were terrible. How many times did Salah (and others) pass directly to a Huddersfield player? If you were a Martian who had landed on earth just before kick off and saw that game, would you be able to tell which team was at the bottom of the league, and which at the top?

It’s not acceptable to simply say “3 points, move on”. Manchester City put Burnley to the sword today: 5 - 0. Liverpool struggled to get past the league’s worst team. The reality is that Liverpool need a step change, and fast, or they will fall behind fairly rapidly.

We're playing shit, and we're joint top of the league. Believe it or not, that's a cause for optimism [emoji57]

Unfortunately we're on the cusp of November, which is traditionally the month when Liverpool destroy their title hopes.

Yesterday was horrible and a bit of a burglary. 1 -1 would have been a fair result. Hopefully we can only get better.

Last year we dropped two points during November. A draw with Chelsea.

It also happened to be the time our front three started to really fire. It's more than acceptable to say "three points, move on" as it's what good teams do. Play shite and win.

I'm old enough to remember the 80s steamroller that was LFC. We were shite in about 60% of matches, decent in 30 and absolutely brilliant in 10.

We aren't playing well and aren't top because we aren't playing well so not scoring many. But we've had our best start to a PL League season and look like we could cut loose with better decision making.

I'll take it.

It's also worth remembering, considering how we're all discussing how we're not quite clicking yet compared to last season, that after our first nine league games last season we had thirteen points, scored fourteen goals and conceded sixteen. We'd been held to draws by Watford, Burnley, Newcastle and Man U and been twatted by Spurs and Man City.

This season we're ten points better off, have conceded thirteen fewer goals (in nine games!) and our 'misfiring' attack has scored two goals more than last season. Our only dropped points are draws against the other two teams who look like they'll also challenge for the title this year.
