No away goals rule now, so I would hope that encourages a slightly more attacking style from the home team. Not to say we shouldn’t be rock solid at the back, but the importance of a conceded goal at home is now a bit less. As long as we score more than them, all is good!

Away goals only counted in two-legged ties, not group games.

GET IN....

I had a feeling he was going to miss that, don't know why. I think the keeper had done his homework

Liverpool need more goals, I just don’t feel one is enough.

Sorry to say it but TAA was to blame for that equaliser...ball watching instead of marking the man..

Err didn't see their second goal was still typing this

As can be seen by the half time score. We could've should've been 4 or 5 goals in front by now.

I was busy shouting at Henderson for not closing down the initial ball in. He simply stood off and invited the Milan player to take his time.

A nervy last 15 minutes. Cracking goal from the Captain. We played really well I thought, but should've put it to bed on the first half.

Everyone got a good run out and some great individual performances from Matip, Gomez, et al.

Would've liked to seen Tsimikas on for Robertson.

Thank fook for that. Not looking forward to the away fixture.

There is the Liverpool I know and love so dearly, another year off my life :)

I wish they’d just score 6 goals in the first 10 minutes and have done.

Can only speak for those who were sat round us (apart from the two drugged up scallies that should be on t'other thread) but the feeling inside the ground, even at 1-2 down was
"No worries, we've got this"

Salah missing that pen seemed to put him up a couple of gears, TAA was huffing about some injustice (og?) all second half, right cob on.

Faninho, Matip...hard to decide who was Mom from where we were, probably Fab.

Oh, and don't worry about Robbo, he was 'back on it' with the backing from the (standing) and buzzing crowd..It really IS different on a Wednesday night...

To try and replicate it with that artificial Super League sh*te.....
No chance.

One last aside, I'm not sure whether pertinent to last night's performance ( he seemed to give the ball away too much) Kieta's domestic situation has improved, I'm sure it's having an effect on him on the pitch.
And finally, whod've thought resting VVD for against AC Milan in preparation for C Palace would ever be a thing?

A very satisfactory result today.

Man U, Chelsea and Everton now all need to win by 3 or more to displace us at the top on either goal difference or goals scored with tied difference. Early days, but there's 13 percent of the season downrange already. City dropped points, it would be nice to see a 0-0 draw between Chelsea and Spurs too.

How many cup finals to go?
