Its akin to Treason May and Jeremy Corbyn in that the alternative just isn't that palatable - the dems 'blue wave' boast is so far not even a ripple!
Trump the bastion of morality again. Still Clinton etc etc again from the Trump catamites

Trump 'secretly recorded' by lawyer Cohen

The quote from Cohen's lawyer was interesting "suffice to say when the recording is heard it will not hurt Mr Cohen, any attempt as spin will not change what is on the tape" there is an obvious inference.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Looks like more trouble inside Team Trump.

'Donald Trump says his ex-lawyer Michael Cohen may have acted illegally after it emerged that he secretly taped a discussion with the US President about a payment to a Playboy model.'

Trump slams lawyer over secret taping

Twitter users pounced on President Donald Trump early Saturday after he boasted about being “your favorite President.”
Trump attempted to dismiss a Friday report in the New York Times that his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen had before the 2016 election secretly taped him discussing a payment to former Playboy model Karen McDougal (with whom Trump is alleged to have had an affair) with the following tweet:

Donald J. Trump

Inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer’s office (early in the morning) - almost unheard of. Even more inconceivable that a lawyer would tape a client - totally unheard of & perhaps illegal. The good news is that your favorite President did nothing wrong!

Trump misleadingly claimed it was “inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer’s office,” when Cohen’s office was in fact raided by the FBIearlier this year as part of a probe into possible campaign finance violations.
Trump also claimed it was “even more inconceivable that a lawyer would tape a client” and suggested it was “totally unheard of” and “perhaps illegal.” “The good news is that your favorite President did nothing wrong!” he added.
It was Trump’s assertion that he was “your favorite president” that raised eyebrows online, however. Dozens of tweeters responded in much the same way, with many making a similar point about former President Barack Obama:

Obama topped a survey of “best presidents” released by the Pew Research Center in July. He also ranked top of a “most admired men” list compiled by YouGov in April.
Trump faced a similar online backlash in January, after he bragged about being a “very stable genius” and “like, really smart.”

We all know that America's favourite President (not) who is also the Worlds smartest business man (not) who believe it or *not* is also the Worlds greatest negotiator will not even take heed of this warning and even went as far to complain about his own Federal Reserve raising interest rates again which was aimed at stopping a slide on the almighty $dollar . Nope, the orange twot who is only a legend in his own mind will continue blindly on and on adding more and more tariffs beyond the point where they make any sense at all until the world economy collapses.

However, when the economy does start to collapse at NO POINT will he take the blame, no Sirree, he will blame the Chinese, the Europeans, NAFTA, Hillary Clinton, Obama, the Democrats, and possibly fire his Economic Adviser.

Meanwhile the Truppits who by this time will have lost any monetary gains they may have made from the 'historic' (which really wasn't) TAX REFORM will still worship the Truppet Master.

IMF warns G20 economic leaders that tariffs hurting global economy

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned world economic leaders on Saturday that a recent wave of trade tariffs would significantly harm global growth, a day after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened a major escalation in a dispute with China.

IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said she would present the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting in Buenos Aires with a report detailing the impacts of the restrictions already announced on global trade.

“It certainly indicates the impact that it could have on GDP (gross domestic product), which in the worst case scenario under current measures...is in the range of 0.5 pct of GDP on a global basis,” Lagarde said at a joint news conference with Argentine Treasury Minister Nicolas Dujovne.

Her warning came shortly after the top U.S. economic official, Treasury Minister Steven Mnuchin, told reporters in the Argentine capital there was no “macroeconomic” effect yet on the world’s largest economy.

Long-simmering trade tensions have burst into the open in recent months, with the United States and China - the world’s No. 2 economy - slapping tariffs on $34 billion worth of each other’s goods so far.

The weekend meeting in Buenos Aires comes amid a dramatic escalation in rhetoric on both sides. Trump on Friday threatened tariffs on all $500 billion of Chinese exports to the United States.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will try to rally G7 allies over the weekend to join it in more aggressive action against China, but they may be reluctant to cooperate because of U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the European Union and Canada, which prompted retaliatory measures. .

The last G20 finance meeting in Buenos Aires in late March ended with no firm agreement by ministers on trade policy except for a commitment to “further dialogue.”

German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said he would use the meeting to advocate for a rules-based trading system, but that expectations were low.

“I don’t expect tangible progress to be made at this meeting,” Scholz told reporters on the plane to Buenos Aires.

Mnuchin told reporters on Saturday that he has not seen a macroeconomic impact from the U.S. tariffs on steel, aluminum and Chinese goods, along with retaliation from trading partners.

But he said there have been microeconomic effects on individual businesses, he said, adding that the administration was closely monitoring these and looking at ways to help U.S. farmers hurt by retaliatory tariffs.

The U.S. dollar fell the most in three weeks on Friday against a basket of six major currencies after Trump complained again about the greenback’s strength and about Federal Reserve interest rate rises, halting a rally that had driven the dollar to its highest level in a year.

Thanks for supporting my favorite President.

Yes, I already knew that President Obama did nothing wrong.

Glad to hear @BarackObama is in the clear!

You are right about one thing. President @BarackObama did nothing wrong.

Guess what, you’re not my favorite president. Guess what else? #MuellerIsComing

My favorite President did nothing wrong!
(but my favorite President certainly isn’t you)

Well at least that settles it for anyone who was in doubt that Trump is deluded.

Ahh so you can internet your knowledge. Nope I have not lived in all 50 states, but I have lived in Europe.
A fact is still a fact,I dont need to live in the US to be able to read facts about the US, you seem to think people have no right to say anything about the US unless they have lived there,, which is plainly nonsense, or that if they see your little bit of it then it somehow proves them wrong.

And whether or not you have lived in Europe is irrelevant

What are you on about? The rest is your usual whataboutery about the Democrats/Clinton, you would do well on Fox news with that sort of foaming at the mouth comments

Let the spin begin.
Not sure about the spin, but looks like the wheels are starting to come off. Apoplexy on the way?

'Donald Trump is acting like a worried man. Reeling from the news that his longtime fixer and personal lawyer Michael Cohen secretly recorded him — and now seems prepared to co-operate with investigators — Mr Trump lashed out at the Russia investigation with renewed fury this morning.
Echoing his previous complaints, the president called Robert Mueller’s investigation a “rigged witch hunt” under the control of “13 angry Democrats”.

'At this point it is customary for us to point out that Mr Mueller is a Republican, not a Democrat. The same is true of his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (who started the investigation and now oversees it), FBI Director Christopher Wray and Mr Wray’s predecessor, James Comey, whose abrupt sacking at Mr Trump’s command sparked Mr Mueller’s appointment as special counsel. While there are some Democrats working on Mr Mueller’s staff, the investigation is being run by Mr Trump’s own Justice Department.'

Trump’s most loyal protector is now his biggest threat

That is a fascinating article.
Mote revelations to come, no doubt. How long can Trump hold onto Office?
As fascinating to watch as it is, I think the sooner he goes, the better.

As a layman it seems pretty clear to me that the DOJ had a good case to file for a wiretap and and good reason to start a surveillance program.
Newly Released Documents Reveal Former Trump Aide Carter Page Was Recruited by Russia
While the documents were heavily redacted in places, the Times reported that visible portions of the documents show the FBI telling the intelligence court that Page “has been collaborating and conspiring with the Russian government.” The agency also told the court that “the FBI believes Page has been the subject of targeted recruitment by the Russian government.” Page has denied being a Russian agent.

After a redaction, the Times reported that the application to wiretap Page included a partial sentence: “… undermine and influence the outcome of the 2016 U.S. presidential election in violation of U.S. criminal law.”

Lavrov tells Pompeo: free Russian woman accused in U.S. of espionage
Lavrov wants her released in a telecon with Pompeo as the charges are ‘fabricated’ according to him:
Russia’s foreign minister told his U.S. counterpart on Saturday that a woman arrested in the United States on accusations she was a Russian agent had been detained on “fabricated charges” and should be released.

Sergei Lavrov made the comments about Maria Butina in a phone call to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that was aimed at improving bilateral relations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement in the wake of the recent summit in Helsinki.
Most importantly, ‘I would’

What is the obvious inference?

I fear you’re seeing what you want to see

If Cohen is accused of conspiring with Trump to make illegal payments from campaign funds to silence a kiss and tell story, and the tape evidence will not hurt Cohen, than surely that means that it clears BOTH of them?

Except, Carter Page was already working for the FBI:
Your link extensively misquotes the Schiff report however that still doesn't escape the fact that the FBI had a solid reason to investigate him.

Intel Committee Ranking Member Schiff Releases Democratic Response Memo

f t # e
Washington, February 24, 2018 | 0 comments
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, released the following statement:

“After reviewing the memorandum drafted by committee Republicans that was made public at the beginning of this month, the FBI rightly expressed its ‘grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo's accuracy.’

“Here are some of the material facts the Majority deliberately omitted:

· The FBI supplied information to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that Russia might be colluding with Trump campaign associates. DOJ provided the Court with a comprehensive explanation of Russia’s election interference including evidence that Russia courted another Trump foreign policy advisor, George Papadopoulos, and that Russian agents previewed their dissemination of information damaging to Hillary Clinton. Russian assistance would, as we would learn in the Papadopoulos plea, take the form of the anonymous disclosure of thousands of Hillary Clinton and DNC emails.

· The FBI had ample reason to believe that Carter Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power based on his history, including the fact that he had previously been a target of Russian recruitment, his travel to Russia, and other information. The renewals of the FISA were also appropriate and based on new information obtained by law enforcement.

· The FBI did disclose that those who employed Christopher Steele were likely motivated to discredit Trump’s presidential campaign. The Bureau used proper masking procedures so as not to reveal the identities of U.S. persons not subject to the FISA, but made clear that the likely purpose was opposition research.

· Contrary to the Majority’s assertions, the FBI and DOJ did not use a Yahoo News article to corroborate Steele; it was referenced alongside another article and a letter Page wrote to then FBI Director James Comey to inform the court of Page’s public denials.
