The Trump Presidency...

Socialism?

America has no concept of what constitutes a 'socialist' administration.

We (the UK) tend to forget that the Democrat party (probably) equates to a liberal One Nation Tory.
Yeah, well the policies they were all spouting at the DNC debates were a thing to behold. Either they are going to try and implement some/most/all of them and bankrupt the country or there will be some seriously disappointed voters who need to continue paying for their student debt and finding medical insurance.

Who was involved in the last riot?
hardly a pimple compared to the cancer of last years destruction. Don't believe me? - Go and drive through parts of Long beach/Los Angeles that said fcuk it and never returned/fixed it up.

You can’t berate the left for public order when they don’t get their way, when the right do exactly the same.

Nothing to be proud of.

I think that Trump is screwing his own reputation by not attending Biden's inauguration. Not exactly presidential is it? I am sure the ceremony is meant to include the outgoing and incoming presidents to represent the continuity of the constitution.

In a democracy the political leader works for the people.
Alternatively, if he had turned up the focus would have been on the collection of Dems all hating him rather than loving Biden. Any trouble from anyone who was not a true blue Dem would have been automatically reported as "Trump tries to set off another coup by hijacking the inauguration......"

With the particanship currently on display in this case I think he probably did the right thing by staying away.

It seems you cant berate the left. We had over a year of being told 'Its a right to protest/loot/destroy'.

I also think we in the U.K. have very little understanding of precisely how limited the power he had to do stuff was. How limited the power of the President actually is if Congress are against you. Pretty much all he could have done was take it more seriously earlier and ”been more Presidential”. The states very jealously guard their powers against Federal interference.
IIRC the local authorities at state and city level had primary responsibility for COVID response? While he may not have been presidential in his response, it wasn't his decision to send COVID positive patients to care homes in NYC. That was the decision of the Democrat mayor and I believe resulted in over 6000 deaths.

What you've described is as old as history - say what it takes to get the keys to the Big House.

You a betting man? 'Cos I'm tempted to have a cheeky 10 Blats on the latter part of your assessment: Realpolitik will trump hot-cheeked 'socialist' policies.

Trump Supporters reacting to their perceived wrong - would you like me to list the protests against Trump as you seem to keep asking me for information.

I'm neither condoning nor approving - simply observing.

The Left are Active and have activists.
The Right are Reactive and have jobs.

It's the same in the UK pretty much.

Historically, you aren't far wrong - the Nazis arose from the Freikorps, which was itself a reaction to the threat of Red Revolution in 1918 Germany....

Except that's a lie, and you know it (either that or you're utterly ignorant, and should stay quiet)

2016 House of Representatives: clear Republican majority
2016 Senate - Republican majority

They weren't "against him" - he had two clear years of majority. He was such a successful President that he managed to lose both the House and the Senate, within a single term of office.

Still, it was successful if you were a rich corporation - biggest cut to corporate taxes in US history. Remind us, what exactly was his "much better" replacement for the Affordable Care Act? Did he, in fact, "Build a wall, and make Mexico pay for it"?

He was incompetent, simple as that.
So how about all the bills that Dems proposed, chock full of things they wanted for their pet agendas (which of course the Reps didn't want) which were then used as propaganda when the Reps refused to pass them?

How many bills did the Reps actually propose and pass that the msm reported as "Well that's a good idea..." or did they twist the narrative to make it like every Republican led bill was another vote against the poor/LGBTQ/Blacks/Latinos/insert Dem cause of choice?

Propanda drove the house and senate for the last four years!

As with so much for him the last 4 years it was a no win situation for him. I reckon not going was the smart move and at least he didn’t have to clean the vomit from his suit at the leftie media love in.

You may be right. Personally, I think it was unstatesmanlike, but will play well with his hard-core support base, which is key to any fightback he may wish to stage...

Yeah. According to the VP at the debates the President is an out and out racist so it maybe was all talk. However those seriously disappointed people have a nasty habit of getting together, marching down streets and setting fire to things before a spot of dynamic cost free shopping.

I was specifically referring to the COVID situation which was during a period where he did not have a majority in both bits of Congress. But you knew that or you’re utterly ignorant and should stay quiet

The real question is when the Q Cult realise that the Storm hasn't arrived.
The Satanic Paedophile Dems haven't been arrested and shot.
The Storm was never going to arrive.
And that they were taken for mugs.

But at least they bought the overpriced tat the shysters were flogging on their Qtard wibblevids.

All in all I thought the whole event was a bit disappointing. Sure, it was dignified and tasteful but overall a bit of a letdown.

I watched the entire thing in anticipation of the storm coming.

I was expecting directed energy weapons to be beamed down from Space Force battlestars and orbiting weapon platforms, vapourising Joe and the rest of the paedophile cannibals. Followed by the massed forces of the Waffle SS, the fat knackers from the Pie'n'Beer Corps and the Alabama Chairborne Militia taking on the 25,000 libtard cucks in the military in Armageddon style, led by Bison Man Angeli and his spear (with the little unemployed gayer as his aids de very camp).

Then some tactical nukes, fuel air explosives and cluster bombs followed by Trumpy Bear in space armour parachuting in to consolidate his position and have the Lardy Bois carry him back to the Weisstag on a golden throne so he could start the thousand year Reich.

It's possible I set my expectations a bit too high.

So he was helpless in the face of the COVID denying Dem majority?
I didn’t say that. What I said was we in the U.K. do not understand how little power he has to make states do stuff if they are unwilling. Was there stuff he could have done or proposed? Undoubtedly. That doesnt take away the fact that the President has very limited powers to operate on his own. It’s by design in the way the US political system is set up. Why don’t you enthrall me with all the things he could have done on his own if Congress did not support him. However we’ve been here before and the answers given were quite limited.

Bloody hell, I knew there was speculation he would never make it through four years but I certainly didn't expect it this quickly.
