The Trump Presidency...

Not quite...

This bed time story was dreamed up by the EU to scare the unknowing and ignorant (Guardian readers in particular)

This one sentence from Biden shows that he has absolutely no understanding of the Irish internal border. “We do not want a guarded border,”.

Any one who had spent any time on the border would know this is not workable or even possible. Many may think that the border was guarded by the army in days gone by but the army was not there to do customs checks and farmer McDermott was a very canny fellow who saw the border as a way to make money.

Oh ok.

and co.

informal

and other people:
Not really.
The "and co" refers to linked people limited companies often have "and Co" in their name to reflect the fact that more than one entity is involved in the same venture.

You didn't know Biden had made comment about a potential hard border, or you wouldn't have made your comment in the first place.

You'd best tell the Cambridge dictionary they're wrong then.

I even pasted the definiton from the site, Comprehension is just a sort of school to you, isn't it?
Steamboat said that US politicians had a view about a potential hard border.
You didn't want to hear that so said he was wrong, by saying

You do know the only people claiming there will be a hard border is the EU and co of course? Oh you didn't. . .

I showed otherwise.

Other people are saying there could be a hard border.

If you are trying to say that you rebutted Steamboats comment about the US talking about a hard border by the cunning method of contradicting him by cleverly saying "and Co" meant the US, fair enough.

I wonder how much of an impact Brexit is going to have on top on the Rona for the average British consumer? More taxes and less free money for extra stuff me thinks.
If I were you I would be concentrating on un-fcuking America and stop worrying about other people's problems. The only answers you have for the U.S. is the pre-schooler "I know you are but what am I?" defense.

Neither you or BB gave a solid reason why Biden or Bojo would give up $273 billion dollars worth of trade.

In the meantime:

Canada, U.K. strike transitional post-Brexit trade deal.

Canada and the United Kingdom have reached an interim post-Brexit trade agreement, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced Saturday.

"Now we get to continue to work on a bespoke agreement, a comprehensive agreement, over the coming years that will really maximize our trade opportunities and boost things for everyone," Trudeau said.

"Free trade is an important part of the way that we're going to bounce back from COVID, but I also think that Canada and the U.K. share a perspective about building back greener," said Johnson, who also took a moment to congratulate Trudeau for taking steps to get Canada to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement extends the elimination of tariffs on 98 per cent of goods exported between the two countries and sets the stage for negotiations toward a permanent and more ambitious deal in the new year. The deal could include "the potential to go further in areas like digital trade, the environment and women's economic empowerment," a release from the British government said.

The announcement came as world leaders virtually convened for the G20 summit while Chump went golfing..

Ok Gramps, let’s take a journey.

If the UK is in a Brexit and Rona induced Recession, that surplus has a bigly chance of disappearing when consumers don’t have free money to spend. So the UK economy is a concern to people over here. When they crunch the numbers they don’t see anything positive about Brexit. Because numbers paint a depressingly different picture.

So if the if that is 273 billion with a strong economy, what will happen if that number does indeed take a dip?

Now go out and support your BBQ guy taking a stand against your ******** government!

I asked to to give comparative figures for the EU, which would have been useful.

Since you've raised the issue again, why on earth do you think the UK would suddenly stop all trade with the US, or vice versa?

Your point is null.

Meanwhile..... the ‘it is what it is’ apocalypse beckons.

It's Machiavelli you SPOTY front-runner. Capital M, "a" after the first i.
Conclusion:
You have SPOTY in the bag.
Actually you are starting to remind me of KGB and his ever changing series of lies about MH17.
Hmmm. If only I could make the connection.
Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are.
Machiavelli

Didn't you know that if you say "Lying dishonest Russian murder apologist" out loud, someone claiming to be KGB Resident turns up to scrawl on a thread?

My enemies enemy is my friend and you could add to machivelli; that once my enemy is defeated, my allies are next in a final battle, winner takes all and the free marketeers are mugs to think the progressive socialists won't ultimately win, because they're believe in something greater than money.

I doubt the politicians who front the culture wars, really understand, how little control they're really have. In the case of america, it reminds me of the declining british empire and the politicians seeing there role as managing that decline. The bollox of it all, is the people have already stirred into rebellion via the ballot box and its a bit of a gamble to assume that democracy can keep a lid on things, if prosperity does not return.

wut?

Go SPOTY!

Maybe Biden/Harris will be to busy dealing with a pandemic, a Democrat party civil war, building bridges with conservative America to get the economy going to give two hoots about the RoI/NI boarder?
That is a pretty accurate assessment.... Though I think you underestimate the effects of a disputed election, on the psychology of a nation. As 80% of Republicans and 30% of Democrats think the election was stolen and maybe its another vietnam prisoner chimera, or maybe its real fraud. But people believe it and that means the Biden presidency will face hostility on every front.

Ironically a disputed election serves the UK well, as we as ever are one of americas few genuine allies and once the hot tempers have calmed, I suspect we will be able to find common ground.
