The Trump Presidency...

FOC

=======================================

The stoopid thing is they all call everyone commies for providing decent healthcare around the planet and seem to think that they will immediately become commies if it is supplied here. Comparative to everywhere else it costs a fortune here because it is unregulated, not even a regulated free market, just down right unregulated in what they are allowed to charge. Yet sit down with a redneck/hick/sodbuster for half an hour and explain how it works and you see that moment of dawning in their eyes and then they immediately start calling politicos and the medical establishment robbing b'stards.

My favourite moment around medical care here was with a lawyer in Florida. He was bemoaning Obamacare, snotting on people, "everyone should pay", no understanding of the workings of the NHS yet calling us commies for having it. Then 6 months later he was laid off, suddenly he had no more health insurance from his employer, and like 99% of Americans he spent everything he earrned living the big life and he had no buffer. I used to make snarky little digs about how if he was in the UK he would be getting medical care even though he was unemployed.

After nearly 100 years of anti Communist politics in the US, the fear of anything left wing is deeply ingrained.

I think one day we will see an NHS style system in the US, but it will take someone like Trump and Obama (who where happy going against the establishment) to do it.

The progressive left likes to dabble to much with social experimentation, and has a very unhealthy desire to eliminate rights and create unprecedented changes to people’s ways of life. So I don’t think universal taxpayer funded healthcare is the way. Along with student loan forgiveness, and all the other gimmicks that they pitch.

The big problem with our yuppie college kids is that they equate Socialism with the Nordic countries, and not places like Venezuela. Nor are they really prepared to live in high tax areas like Europe. They only think the evil rich will pay for it.

The problem is all the lobbyists in Washington that work for all the healthcare associated companies and organisations. They bung backhanders at the politicians to encourage them not to change anything, so they don't, and it just continues.

As you say it needs a maverick to turn it on its head. IMHO the best first step would be to bring in pricing regulation for pharma and medical care. There was a local article here a few months ago that showed the price range of a basic MRI with a selection of the various providers. The price ranged somewhere from around $1500 to $6500 for exactly the same thing, and the punter is blindly trusting of the medical providers............cos they care don't they. Bolleaux, all they care about is how much money they make.

It's been my speculation from day one that the Democrats expected to win handily up to the final weeks, as the ballot harvesting was set to deliver large numbers from the big cities and then panic set in...... The Dominion roll out of a new software update, shortly before the election, was certainly very strange and was that update to all states using the software patch, or just those swing states ?? the Norms dictate Code Deployments too close to a go live date(election day) are blocked, as your under a code freeze.

On election day; whatever Dominion was expected to do, it was unable to counter, the size of the Trump turnout. Its why you saw the counting between the key states, all slowed and then stopped and seemed to be centrally co-ordinated, at this stage the shenanigans started to deliver narrow wins. Hence, why North Carolina expected for Trump was shut down entirely, so as to allow Biden to take a steady lead elsewhere in the projected electoral college.

The focus for most ordinary people is the individual fraud and I think that is a distraction. Its like focusing attention on patrol activity in your local Area of Operation. Let the local state Republicans chase after individual ballots. The Trump Team seem focused on the wider conspiracy and the evidence released so far is circumstantial, but if they're can get to a trial, then the democrat state establishments will face some tough questions and be under oath to answer them, or face jail time.

Summary:
This was a modern day coup d'etat, it used to be said you storm the radio station. But in our society the media are already biased to one side and you don't need Ecomcon (google Burt Lancaster film).
Or maybe they just won because their opponent was a colossal bellend.

I haven't been on arrse long enough to know if sweepstakes are a thing on here but I should like to run one for when Donald is indicted in January and starts using dementia as a defence.

No I would imagine that will be when you earn your fame writing in Fine Scale Modeler, and make the cover page of Ladie’s Home Journal.
FSM is a decent mag. I preferred the UK military modeling and the US military miniatures in review but sadly both went defunct

I see from the news that as all the G20 had a talk Trump went off to play golf.

Is this because they did not use one of his hotels or was it that he was not the centre of attraction. They did mention that he had a small photo in the corner.
