The Trump Presidency...

By their works shall you know them.

And their incoherent ravings on social media.

Let's put this bluntly.
Not only is the Trump fanbase full of the very worst examples of American society, who are willing and eager to condone Trump's ghastly record because he literally speaks for them because he is them.. -the crude, the ignorant, the racist, the spiteful, the resentful, the oafish, the dishonest, the stupid..

His followers are actively trawling and recruiting the mentally ill.
There is no such cult like devotion to Internet conspiracy anywhere else in the world.
Until Q the most pernicious nonsense on the net was the DIY Islamic terrorism crap produced by AQ and IS that radicalised sad losers into wannabe martyrs.

Now you have something more pervasive, even less convincing, and yet American politicians are actively courting the unhinged who believe in it.
It seems you are taking what you read at face value, and then projecting that narrow view onto an entire swathe of society. It’s like saying Labour voters are exemplified by the Abbott woman. As reprehensible as she is, your average Labour voter in the S Wales Valleys or Teesside or Leeds or Bristol is nothing like that.

In a country with 5 or 6 times the population of the UK, it’s very likely that there will be further outliers in the spectrum of “normality”, with some very extreme views on either side of the norm. Again, with 5 or 6 times the population, that also means that the body of the majority in the center of the bell curve will be much larger. The businessmen, the small business owners, the lawyers, the doctors, the teachers, the average Joe in both suburbia and rural America who happens to vote Republican.

Attaching the persona described above to this body of the population is patently ridiculous. They are generally not crude, ignorant, racist, spiteful, resentful, oafish, dishonest or stupid. To suggest otherwise could be described as crude, ignorant, spiteful, oafish and stupid.

One might look at the violent protests in the news in recent times and say that those are crude, ignorant, racist, spiteful, resentful, oafish, dishonest and stupid. In many respects all of those are true, with criminal damage, looting, destruction of public property etc. But to characterize the body at large that these people claim to represent with these adjectives in general would be equally asinine.

By their works shall you know them indeed.

#TakeTheOath is catching on; the best antidote to the Globalist garbage. This is General Flynn and his family. Note the WWG1WGA at the end.

If you were a puppy I would look intently into your eyes just before they euthenised you.

There is just politics, plan and simple.
Through out history there has always been people working in the civil service that have not fully supported the government if the day and have worked to undermine it. Internal politics does not sound as sexy as "deep state" or "Qanon" or a cabal of jews/globalists/lizard men.

To combat internal politics we do not need a great political "awakening", we just just need departments to follow existing policy on not bringing politics into the work place and this is where the Reps and Dems are falling down.

If Trump is fighting the "Deep State" then so did Obama because there where a lot of Reps left in powerful places from the Bush Jr administration, or it's just normal internal Partisan politics.

Had Trump had previous political experience he would have known how to handle disruptive forces. If he gets a second term he will be better equipped to deal with disruptive forces.

The whole situation reminds me of the McCarthy witch/Communist trials, but now both sides of the house are playing the role of the witch finder general.
There are many functions of government that are pretty much technocratic and chug along from administration to administration with very little political input.
This isn't the Deep State. It is just business as usual.

Trump is unique not in putting party loyalists in charge many of these, but of actively gutting many of them or leaving posts unfilled. The US system is probably more fragile than the UK one because of the broken relationship between State and Federal authority.

These aren't disruptive forces.
They are CONTINUITY forces. They keep government ticking over, whatever the colour of the administration.

Through his negligence, incompetence and malevolence, in crippling most areas of government function, Trump has done himself no favours if he wins a second term, but would leave his successor a poison pill defence to cope with.
I would say that this could be a diabolically cunning ploy. This would require Trump to be diabolically clever, treasonous, and cruel.
However, he is a corrupt moron, so it is probably just natural talent, rather than a well thought out strategy.

'Fox News has come under fire for repeatedly using a photo of Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump in its broadcast, but cropping the president out of it each time.

'The photo in question is a well-known one, and shows the convicted sex offender posing with his arm around Ghislaine Maxwell at Trump’s private Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, as Trump stands with his arm around his future wife Melania. The four are all standing very close together; so close, in fact, that in order to crop the US president out of the image, Fox News had to crop out half of Melania’s body.'

You forget to mention President Trump banned this spawn of Satan from Mar-a-Lago for his sick predilections.

well argued, that should convince them of the error of their ways and make them switch their votes to your side overnight.

Have you got any previous experience of winning hearts and minds? An active role in the anti-brexit campaign perhaps?

A reasonable argument, but it falls apart on the lack of bell curve.

Where the US political spectrum is polarised it is in the unbreakable and frankly cult like devotion of Trump's base.

There is a less solid Democrat +anyone but Trump bloc, but the notable features of the Trump cult is that it isn't Republican. There are a very, very few swing voters.

When you look at what Republican parties have stood for, he isn't a Republican.
So, if the Trump base is utterly devoted to the man, but it is not a political party, what is it?
And what does it believe?
It believes in many vile things, and you could argue that not every Trumpite is a gun owning, militia supporting, ignoramus. But so many of them are. Their love for Trump blinds them to his vices, in the same way the religious Right accept his moral and ethical vacuum as "Well, King David was a shit, but he was in the Bible, so...."

So, anyone who wants to run on the coat tails of Trump has to pander to the lowest of the low, because that is what the hardest part of the Trump bloc is, and they are the most unhinged, delusional and paranoid elements of American society.

Well, apart from campaigning for the Conservative Party?

There is a world of difference between continuity and disruption. The narrative of the Dems has been to Resist at all costs.

We will have to agree to disagree.

You dont see anything wrong with your position... Your left wing slant is so toxic, you cant see anything. Whats wrong with owning guns? Supporting a militia?

Unhinged is a great descriptor.

If you ban militias there might be a bit if protest from the popular black leftwing militias. ;0)

Going off on a tangent, Poland has approx 40,000 members of militia to help counter the threat from Russia. Not sure about other EU member states.

It shows how unaware he is of the countries differences and his perceived political stance.
