The Trump Presidency...

Erm, the results of that democratic election a) didn't depend on popularity and b) show that his opponent was more popular.

What is it with you lot and denial?
Your missing the point, or simply blinded by a misinterperation of the word... The popularity of a candidate in Texas, opposed to the popularity in california. The word is meaningless, unless you include the word 'states'... To say who is more popular by aggregating the result, is not the american system and ignores the united 'states' of america.

Are the democrats considering abolishing the states ? if not, they're need a candidate who appeals to texans or other states to capture those electoral votes i.e. run a candidate who doesn't simply appeal to CNN, or hollywood and/or hoovers up the minority vote in specific states.

They your lying to yourself....... The trouble with the anti-trumpet brigade is your irrational. I get you despise him, but a rational person would be arguing about how to turn him over and not who should be winning because their morals are supposedly shinier.
The problem is that some people are stuck trying to compare the virtue of two whores. When the rest of us are just trying to figure out who will put out and make life better.

When the masses feel better and see the improvements, they are less likely to vote for somebody like Bernie who is going to Feck it all up.

That pretty well sums it all up.

Bernie needs to concentrate on one big deliverable of taking ACA to the next stage (probably not full universal healthcare, but close) and drop all the other left wing day dreams like writing off student debt.
If he does not temper down his socialism to appeal to a greater audience Trump will win..... again!

Trump buggers off from the Daytona 500 before it begins.

Nothing wrong with Chump visiting Daytona, Presidents have a right to seek publicity wherever they can and Daytona was the perfect opportunity to do that.
{Fox cut his speech off the air btw}.

After a bunch of drivel magnificent speech about how much he loooooves NASCAR and is excited to be there the orange man disappeared on AF1 before the race began and long before it was called off.

The Trump campaign then tried to con America by posting a picture and caption re: the dunce in front of crowds of adolescent adoring fans.
“realStupidTrump won the #Daytona500 before the race even started.”

But once again the internet quickly came to fact check this lie. The campaign manager quickly changed the photograph to this one taken yesterday and not the one above which shows Dubya Bush leaving Daytona back in 2004.

Not so many adoring fans in attendance.

His love for the Daytona 500 is evident by his complete absence since 1999 but back then not to be outdone by an iconic race fatty tried to have a track built to compete against Daytona.

In March 1999, Trump announced plans to build a $400 million track for 300,000 stock-car fans, which obviously had to be bigger than Daytona and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The man who doesn't seem to realise that TRUMP means FART intended to build the track and call it the unimaginative Trump Super Speedway. It was never built.

The best thing to focus on, which the GOP will is reducing prescription drug prices. Small meaningful improvements are better than pie in the sky agendas. Like free college for all and open borders for the 3rd world.

Two whores indeed.... Ever since thatcher and Reagan, I haven't seen any leader who I considered to have any sense of morality. Both were pilloried by the left as much as Trump and that alone validates trump as an ally in this culture war.

Free university and Universal health are do able, expensive but still do able.

If the Reps go for cheaper prescriptions it will win votes.

I normally avoid this thread because it mainly consists of poo flinging, but the following was too funny not to share.

Not with porous borders ( with a true 3rd world nation) and the high expectations for really good health care from those currently with insurance.

I and my family have insurance and the NHS style care would be a step back.

Yup, you would need to sort out the boarders or introduce a database/membership card to identify those eligible for treatment.
The NHS has had to work hard to counter Health tourists and to claim back costs from other EU countries. In the US, I believe it is cash/insurance upfront for none life/death situations.

The NHS covers most people's needs, but in the UK you can always get private healthcare on top of your NHS cover. Best of both worlds.

‘best of both worlds’? You mean much higher taxes for everyone and less quality care for me? Or will I be paying for this ‘free’ heathcare and paying for my own private care too?

Interesting.

I think it was a few ago some one on here said that Italian fascism could have survived if only they had not backed Germany in the war.

How much does the average person pay for Health Insurance in the USA?

I could only google that answer- mine is free through my job ( most decent jobs provide it to varying degrees). I pay close to $1k a month for the wife and three kids ( medical, dental and vision). We have some great pediatric doctors too - the quality of care vs the U.K. is huge.

Expensive - yes. Hopefully the wife decides to go back to work, when the nippers are older and it will be a big bill off my back.
