The Trump Presidency...

Have you ever considered that you yourself seem fairly radical...?? Do you also follow Antifa as well by chance?
If it is considered radical to expect the leader of a major global power to marshal a few clear and obvious facts and construct a coherent sentence around them then most ARRSE members are probably radicals.

Most of your countrymen here can do this (DavidBOC, JJH, the tank bloke etc) and you are getting the hang of it so why is it so radical to expect your leader to do it.

Made absolutely possible by the grand failure, and continuing decline of the other party. Granted I don’t think America first is promising the world to a certain segment of society. It is protecting what they have from the rest of the world and the joys of globalisation. Which deep down people really want their political leadership to take care of the home team first and tell the visitors to go do one.
Probably confounded by globalisation being an American construct and the US being the leaders at it.

I don’t expect much from a man that had everything handed to him in life. I am ok with the Anti Trumpism. That is to be expected, however the vitriol aimed at those that voted for him is what is cause for concern.

Jonesy have you been writing to the Newspapers again?.:pc:

Why Conservative Women Are So Pretty

The young women who attend CPAC are spectacular. No kidding: What’s up with this concentration of incredibly attractive young, conservative women? It’s noticeable and remarkable.

On the Left, however, you can’t say these things just because they may be true, or, more accurately, especially if they’re true. It is not easy espousing conservative views at any time or place, given that the overwhelming response of the culture, the media and academia is ridicule and dismissal.

They have courage and character and, in their spare time, represent the last, best hope of mankind. The women of the Right are allowed to believe things that the women of the Left are not. They are allowed to believe there is a difference between women and men, female and male, and that those differences are real, not a false cultural construct imposed by a self-interested, manipulative patriarchy.

Even more, women of the Right are allowed to accept obvious things rather than engage in exhausting psychic gymnastics to get to a place that is politically correct, while preposterous. If a thug murders a pregnant woman, he should be charged with two murders, not just one.

Even further, they have no difficulty with the notion that the woman in question had every right to effectuate her own protection, if she chose, with whatever weapon she preferred to use, for the easily understood and non-controversial purpose of blowing the thug away before he could murder her and her baby.

Maybe it is for these reasons and many similar ones that the women of CPAC walk with a bounce in their step and a light in their eyes, and maybe that is the engine of their attractiveness, the source of their ability to light up the room.

All of this leads to the obvious: I am entirely wrong; my premise itself is faulty (something my wife would not find surprising). It’s not that a lot of attractive women, for some reason, find their way to conservative views; it’s that something about holding conservative views causes women—all women, across the spectrum—to become particularly attractive.

Put another way, maybe what I’m noticing is simply women who have been liberated by their worldview to be who they are, uniquely and confidently, unabashedly and apologetically, unencumbered by the politically correct constraints imposed on women of the Left, and the result is a kind of essential womanhood that, far from being oppressive, as the Left would have it, is instead, miraculous and quintessential, and, you could say, God-given.

Hold on...there is nothing about Guns or Brexit in it so it can't be him. Goldbricker, yep, I'll go with him instead.

We judge the electorate by the company they keep.
If your chosen candidate is a moral and ethical wasteland, a pervert, thief, probably traitor, delusional narcissist with the attention span of a stunned goldfish, and the mind of a defective eight year old...

If you aren't intelligent enough to see what a monstrosity he is, or worse, you accept the monster for some coincidental overlaps of his ghastly prejudices with yours, you are as culpable as he.

You have enthusiastically enabled someone whose natural home is a prison cell to steal the highest office of your country.
Why shouldn't you experience vitriol? You deserve it.

As the saying goes, there is a time and place for everything.

Few things though.
You don’t have a say at the table or even get to be in the room. Your opinion matters not.

All it sounds like is the wrong candidate was picked, and the ROW does not like it.

But what you fail to grasp is that you will need those people long before they will need you.

So bashing them does not give them much reason to help you out with your own self induced problems. Which seem to gaining steam at a fairly quick clip.

He's just making Britain great again. It's bound to work out of, alienating everyone else through a misappreciation of how important we are to them.

Won't it?

The point you fail to grasp is not that the "wrong" candidate was chosen.
It is the fact that someone so ill fitted shouldn't even have been in the running.

However, by trawling the lowest common denominator of bigotry, stupidity, xenophobia and greed, and by eagerly accepting the aid of Russian intelligence, he got enough halfwits to vote for him.
He is a reflection of the Ugly American. He is you writ large.

Then you should be thanking that non existent God you still have a pulse.

America’s controversial ambassador to Great Britain, and father of a future U.S. president, wanted to keep America out of the war with Nazi Germany.
By Peter Kross
In 1939, Joseph Patrick Kennedy, the scion of the modern-day Kennedy family which included three United States senators, an attorney general, and the 35th president of the United States, was appointed the American ambassador to Great Britain by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Upon his appointment to the Court of St. James’s, Joseph P. Kennedy was flung into a world on the brink of war, a conflict that he opposed and out of which he tried desperately to keep the United States. During his tumultuous time in London, Joseph Kennedy fought bitterly with the State Department, as well as FDR, in his outspoken opposition to the president’s policy of coming to the aid of Britain in the wake of Hitler’s European onslaught.

Kennedy ruffled feathers in Washington when he met secretly with German diplomats and made few friends with his anti-Semitic remarks. In the end, his opposition to America’s anti-Nazi policies led to his resignation in disgrace from his coveted ambassadorship and, for all intents and purposes, ended whatever political career he harbored for himself.

That would depend on where one fits in the pecking order.
Which is not necessarily the same as where one thinks one fits in the pecking order.

If, to pick a random and wholly theoretical example, ones prosperity derives from being central to systems and organisations of global governance and one deliberately withdraws from, undermines or trashes them, ones prosperity and ones place in the pecking order which derives from it will take a bit of a knock too.

In theory yes, but at the same time when one has all the strength that the others lack it might not happen either.
When you sit at the top of a large Mountain, it is hard for others to climb it and kick you off. Especially when you make the rules for the systems and can dominate the rest through economic and military means. As it stands for now our strength continues to grow while the ROW continues to weaken.
