The Trump Presidency...

If you enjoy lefty heads exploding this is going to be better than election night.

CNN has already conceded.

Wired offered a decent appreciation a couple of weeks ago - "7 scenarios for how the Mueller probe might wrap up."

Now that we know that there will be no further indictments that's narrowed down from 7 to 1. The first scenario.

The twists and turns necessary to keep the dream alive are going to be gloriously amusing. The excuses: Yes but... Emoluments, Yes but... Southern District of New York... The straw clutching desperation generally will be wonderful to behold. Specifically, at this place, the comportment of the resident NPC's is bound to be severely tested.

While we wait for the report to be made public the best summation of the events of the past two years is here. Victor Davis Hanson "Autopsy of a dead coup"

Vox - unusually, plays a pretty straight bat to what happens next and the obligations of AG Barr. In essence all Barr is required to do is two things “He just tells Congress, ‘It’s over. And here are the cases in which I overrule Mueller’s judgment,’”

The second part is the most important and was responsible for Rachel Maddow losing her shit. If Barr has in fact overruled anything Mueller has submitted to him, Maddow might well have a point. If he did he was a fool.

What happens next?

Trump is now free to declassify the FISA Court documents that attempted to stitch up Carter Page. Trump has previously declined to declassify the results of this enquiry for two reasons. Not to be seen to influence the Mueller investigation and not to embarrass US Allies. Which allies did he not wish to embarrass? I'm looking at you 'fishnets'!

Now that Mueller is over, combined with the fact that Alexander Downer can't possibly further embarrass himself. The FISA court stuff will be released toot sweet as Trump goes on the attack.

If Mueller is the earthquake - Horowitz will be the Tsunami.

The results of the Office of Inspector General enquiry

"Examination of the Department’s and the FBI’s Compliance with Legal Requirements and Policies in Applications Filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Relating to a certain U.S. Person."

Were also put on hold until after Mueller had concluded.

We now get to see that. Good.

Good for democracies everywhere.
Oh, dear.
And crickets...

Timing is everything.

The fact that the Mueller report was dumped after 5 on a Friday afternoon in the midst of March Madness tells you everything you need to know.

The flaw in that weekend timing is that the resident 'Orange man bad' crowd in these parts can't get their shit in one sock. Because they haven't been delivered their talking points.

Leftist = Not able to think for yourself - bludger.

I thought that the moderator would be all over this like a wave on Japan?

But even he's missing in action. Not even a trademark *Snigger*?

Low energy.
Barr has had the report for over twenty four hours and yet "crickets" I'd have thought he'd have been in front of the press quick smart unless there's something he rally needs to think about.
As predicted, Trump's supporters seem to be going into overdrive to rubbish the report before the details are made public.
You'll probably find the Democrats will be rubbishing the report because it didn't go far enough. They already want to subpoena Mueller, Barr and everyone associated with it including the office cat.
I wonder if Mueller knows what crimes those who have been indicted with so far and what they haven't. He may also know that when they are asked question "A" the answer will be............. This will lead to question "B" which will see the case comming back round to Trump.

As with all these things it's the question they don't ask first that get you. The Trumpets seem to think that Mueller has a lower brain capacity than Trump. Trump thinks he's off the hook but Mueller could have just baited it for him.
Still going to be a fight for 'full disclosure'.

A special counsel investigation has not found evidence of US President Donald’s Trump’s election campaign or its associates conspiring with Russia. “The special counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 US Presidential Election,” Attorney General William Barr wrote in a letter to Congress.

The report is divided into two parts. The first delves into the results of Mr Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the federal election. The second element involved the Kremlin’s efforts to conduct computer hacking operations to gather and spread information to influence the election. The letter notes Russian government actors successfully hacked into computers and obtained emails from people affiliated with the Clinton campaign and Democratic Party organisations. “Based on these activities, the Special Counsel brought criminal charges against a number of Russian military officers for conspiring to hack into computers in the United States for purposes of influencing the election,” the letter states. “But... the Special Counsel did not find that the Trump campaign, or anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in these efforts, despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign.” '

Mueller report concludes no evidence against Trump
Lol - So, Collusion is utterly dead in the water

Obstruction of Justice comes down to the same benefit of the doubt that Hillary got.

oh, just watch the vitriol pour out now

The letter from AG Barr, drawing on the report.

Of interest,

The Special Counsel obtained a number of indictments and convictions of individuals and
entities in connection with his investigation, all of which have been publicly disclosed. During
the course of his investigation, the Special Counsel also referred several matters to other offices
for further action. The report does not recommend any further indictments, nor did the Special
Counsel obtain any sealed indictments that have yet to be made public.
So, the Witch Hunt Circus will now decamp to the Southern District of New York one assumes?

This is the bit that Trump would appear to rely upon.

As to obstrcution, the Mueller report appears to have gathered information and left it to others to draw the conclusion.

According to precedent, this was up to the AG and D/AG - who have elected that there is insufficient evidence to prosecute.

And Mueller can now step back - as Louis XV is held to have remarked, Après nous, le déluge"
wow this guy is obsequious

Yes, the fact it's 200 odd pages.

Also, making sure what he legally can release to the public.
I knew there would be a first time and this is it, the first time you have made a post that actually made sense, there is a lot of stuff particularly evidence gathered that relates to on going investigations that can't be made public.
