The third world war has begun

and there ia a history prof who said it has already been fought and won by the US , in a proxy sense, USSR a close second prior to imploding. aka the cold war, (brr.. shivers), so that would make this the 4th.

Or the 5th if you adhere to the view that the Napoleonic Wars were the first world war of the post -enlightenment era.

Or if the first one was the Seven Year's War, this would be the 6th - or not. Newt the Knob and his Neo-Con friends obviously like to play "Fantasy World War".

Newt Gingrich has been making the rounds of the neocon-oriented USA talk shows reiterating this theme: Hannity & Colmes, Rush Limbaugh, Fox & Friends.

A wise man wrote that "War is the health of the State."

Newt, who has sucked the state teat all his adult life, intends that the State be as healthy as possible.

A world war means more and larger government contracts and more comprehensive, obtrusive surveillance and regulation of the peasants. It's no wonder that the people who pull Newt's strings are eager to get it started.

Funnily enough he didn;t mention Al Queda. Is this because:-

1. He beleives the propaganda. In his mind the war against AQ has been already won?
2. His agenda is really to forment a war against Syria and Iran where the targets are likely to be visible?
3. He isn't really talking abou US or Western interests but those of Israel?

I stopped reading after the first half of the first sentence of paragraph 1.

Newt Gingrich said:
The long road to victory begins with the free world helping the Lebanese democracy defeat Hizbullah:-
How can you help the Lebanese democracy? Any remanants that survived the previous Israeli and Syrian occupations are in the process of being dismantled once again by the IDF????

Does this toad live on the same planet as us?

I just love this:

An Iran-Syrian-Hizbullah-Hamas terrorist alliance is waging war against Israel; seven bombings in Mumbai, India, killed more than 200 people; North Korea, launched seven missiles, including an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of hitting the West coast of the continental United States; seven Americans pledging allegiance to al-Qaida on video tape; a plot to bomb New York City subways and tunnels; 18 Canadians arrested with twice the explosive force used in the Oklahoma City bombing. Now add all the cities where previous events have occurred and a global campaign of terror is no longer deniable.
I bet this idiot believes "Lord of the Rings" was a documentary! :D :D :D

Oh, sh1t, you're not telling me it's made up are you :)
no its not sir, he's just winding you up, you can read the whole pre LOR history of Middle Earth in JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion, if you are ever bored for, say, an entire week.

Interestingly the book covers the periods before the Third Age, recounting the history of the Elves, the coming of the long-lived Numenorian men from the South, and the eventual rise of Men, over the declining Elves, Hobbits and Dwarves.

I read it as a child, and I don't care what anyone says, I know its all true

then again, HB get 20% of the vote in Lebanon, so they are part of the "demos" as the ancient Bubbles would have said.

But perhaps the Septics are turning the use of the word "democracy" to their own ends, knowing that fat voters in Buttfucknowhere don't have the faintest notion of geo-politics.

They might be taking a leaf out of their old enemies' books...the DDR, the German Democratic Republic, perhaps the Yanks want to impose thier form of rule by the people, in the same way that their Soviet predecessors did, with force.

Hmm Hundred years war is just England v France and I'm not sure about a non European dimension to the Thirty Years war. However the Phillip of Spain's wars against the Brits and Dutch was waged wherever the dsea beggers and Elizabethan heroes sailed.

what, you mean back then there were actually other countries other than England and France? And anyway, England is not Europe so the 100yrs is DEFFO a world war innit?

Mind you if we want non European, Alexander's war against the Persians and other Asians surely qualifies?

Lets find and aggree on six, which will make this the seventh, and as stated by another poster above, the neocons love the number 7
