Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Morning everyone,

Thought you might be interested to know that the Legion has just launched a massive new enterprise scheme to help ex-Service personnel start their own businesses.

It's called 'Be the Boss' and as part of the Legion's Poppy Funds service, they're offering up to £30,000 in financial support to anyone who left the Armed Forces since the beginning of the war in Afghanistan in 2001 and wants to start up (or grow) a business.

As well as money (which can be grants, loans, or a mixture of the two), the Be the Boss package will include advice and mentoring on things like forward planning and business health checks.' You don't have to be starting up the next EasyJet either - grants can be as little as a few hundred pounds to pay for training.

For all of this there's a pot of £5m available thanks to a grant from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.

I'd recommend anyone returning to civvy street to head over to the website for more info.

    Thoughts welcome! :D
