Hmm...keeping the Yanqi powder dry for the critical moment eh?

Maybe there's nobody on US TV, Radio or in the Press who makes any of you guys get red in the face at shout at the box ?

I guess we'd better de-list Noam Chomsky and Hillary then......

Well, Limbaugh (he's called "Rush" because his mommy was taken speedily from behing as she staggered out of a crack den), and O'Reilly come to mind for starters.

Ann Coulter. Ugly, stringy, horsefaced, incoherent, shrieking, post-op transsexual hag with no clue how people that aren't from small upper-class towns actually live. Nobody in America would listen to this rambling harpy if she didn't wear short leather skirts on TV (and even then, she looks like an S & M soccer mom).

I can listen to someone I don't agree with politically if their views are thoughtful and well-founded. But she's not even intelligent! She tries for "aggressive" and "bombastic," but not being bright enough to pull it off, she just ends up making Hillary Clinton look like Florence Nightingale. She brings absolutely nothing to the table of American political discourse and I hope she dies before her book contract gets renewed.

Agreed absolutely. But let's not forget (s)he is a lying sack of sh1t who, if the facts don't suit the point, she will happily change them. Note especially her assertion on a CBC interview that Canada committed troops to Vietnam, and then she had the gall to argue with the Canadian interviewer about it, when he pointed out her schoolgirl error.

P.S. Damn you, T-Y. You stole my signature! Will have to scout around for something new to demean the shaved chimp now. (Won't be too hard.)

Canada did commit troops. In the late fifties, and again in the early seventies. ICCS.

Hi RC,

My understanding is that Canada never committed troops to actually fight the war...their above-line involvement was in very small numbers, to monitor negotiations and peacekeeping. Below the line, more involvement (mainly for financial gain)?

To me it still belies Anne Coulter's point that Canada would be willing to fight what's perceived as America's war just because we're neighbors. Everyone tries to make money off a war so I'm not too het up about the Canadian industrial concerns referred to on CBC.

I am neither a military historian nor Canadian, so I freely admit this could be wrong. :) If you have links I could read, I'm always interested in learning.

TY check this out
Like many of their American counterparts, Canadian Vietnam veterans who returned home discovered that their efforts were not appreciated. In fact, there was a great deal of anti-war hostility in cities such as Vancouver and Toronto where a considerable number of draft evaders had settled. Accordingly, Canadian Vietnam veterans quickly shed their uniforms and tried to resume their lives. But they found themselves a tiny minority isolated from other Vietnam veterans. There were no Veterans Administration Centers in Canada where they could go for assistance. They were prohibited from becoming full members of the Royal Canadian Legion (the equivalent of the American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars) and the general message from many of the branches and members was that they were not welcome. It was not until after the completion of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington that a few began to publicly acknowledge their Vietnam service.

Even worse than the treatment of Canadian Vietnam veterans was that accorded to many of the families whose husbands or sons were killed in Vietnam. Defenseless as a result of immediate grief, some were verbally assaulted by anti-war activists. Neighbors and friends were unsympathetic. There are families whose sons survived the war, but were damaged physically, mentally and emotionally by their service.

The isolation of Vietnam veterans is much greater in Canada than in the United States. Remembrance Day on November 11, (Canada's version of Veterans Day) is only for those killed in the service of Canada. The Royal Canadian Legion excludes Vietnam veterans from participating in its national observances.
Source is a very interesting site at http://www.vwam.com/vets/allies/canadians.html ....website is called 'Veterans With a Mission " and reconciliation is very much part of their style

To date VWAM has built twenty –five rural and city health clinics in Vietnam with sixteen of these facilities being in Quang Nam Province, Danang Province, and Danang City.

The Vietnam War is only one of the many aspects of the VWAM website. This site contains a great deal of information on: the Vietnam war, Vietnam war photos, the ethnic peoples of Vietnam, current events in Vietnam, travel tips and more. We also offer an extensive selection of photos of this beautiful country both past and present.
Vets With A Mission is doing something constructive to help a people with whom we have shared so much suffering in common. Learn more about what we do in Vietnam and what motivates us as a veterans group to help the people of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Please sign our Guest Book and let us know when you were in country and who you served with. If you're a non-veteran or student and using this page for reference work please let us know if our information helped you.

Thanks for stopping by and giving us a chance to show you the beauty and the needs of this fascinating country called Vietnam. God Bless you and come back often.

There y'go.

El Gran Cabra,

Hah! That's her.

"Pretty girl," by the way, is her own self-applied title, culled from the column about the DNC that was too incoherent for feckin' USA TODAY to publish. It's too funny. I mean, shouldn't such an anti-feminist woman wait for the man to compliment her first, anyway? I can just imagine her trying to beat some chivalry out of her frightened dates (with her c0ck, no doubt).

"I'm pretty! I AM! I'm skinneeeeeee! And I like, write about politics and stuff too! I'm smart! Tell me I'm pretteeeeeeeee! *whap, whap*"

The only people that think she's actually hot are angry young males that think anorexic man-faced blondes who pose (badly) with firearms and cigarettes dangling from razor-lips somehow represent the new world order when it's really just hillbilly porn.

On a much more flavorful note, I haven't tried them yet...am leaning on the Tankie to get us there, though! Full report to follow. You are the wind beneath my bingo wings (tm Dale). :)
