The police farce.

The law is unenforceable. Why do these cops persist in trying to enforce it.
The government's own web site states in clear English that you dont need a medical report / examination to claim an exemption. It simply lists reasons you could claim it, one being that wearing a mask would cause you distress. It states you can not be asked to state the reason for your exemption nor can you be asked to provide written exemption. Should you wish there are some example documents you can print of to state you are exempt if that makes you more comfortable.
The intention is that enough of the population will follow the rules to prevent the spread of infection with the acknowledgement that a percentage won't.
In the latest round of BS our Disney Towers actually issued some sensible guidance.

'It will not be Police led.'

I have to admit I was actually impressed.

Yet another example of badly drafted legislation making it a nightmare for the poor copper to try to enforce the law. If they want mandatory mask wearing, they should have required people to produce a buff chit from their GP in request.

Doing the shopping run yesterday the majority were wearing masks. The exceptions were in the main, staff members, which surprised me and mostly the B end of the BAME community, which didn't.

The mask requirements have one side saying the police should enforce it while the other says the shops should do the job. Good luck with either option.

Except that doctors refuse to issue chits, for my Memsahib for e.g. (Double cancer patient, not a loon btw)

The boss of Iceland has instructed his staff not to enforce the mask rules in his shops.

Then mask wearing shouldn't be 'mandatory' with any expectation that the police will enforce it. If the government were serious about infection control and reducing 'R' then I"m sure GPs could be required to issue exemption certificates.

Which proves that the current restrictions are pure PR BS

Just two GMP throbbers who know they're in the wrong but won't back down, agitate the situation to the point where they can make an arrest for BoP (standard procedure) and then it's happy days, back to the station for tea and medals.

Only problem is that there is no Breach of the Peace there in that situation.

I see Professional Standards getting involved once the formal complaint has been made against that pair of pillocks.

By the time they get back to the station there will be, as well as anything else they can throw in just for sh*ts and giggles.

Walking on the cracks in the pavement
Looking at me in a funny way
Breathing without due care and attention
Wearing a loud tie in a built up area
etc, etc

Or maybe they were going to report him for an offence but he failed to provide his details and they then arrested him using S24 PACE ( I may be wrong on the section). Without seeing all of the video it hard to make a judgement.

I identify as BAME, between 19:00 and 22:00 on weekdays, and any enforcers are liable to get done for racialist harassment if I'm accosted during those hours.
For too long brothers have been kept down by the man.

Edit: It's pure coincidence that I just happen to resup on Gordons and Beefeaters gin during those hours.

Do we know how he came to their attention?
