Well lets be honest, Elliot is a cock with attitude.

If he is exempt these c*ntwaffles have just cost Manchester Plod a couple of thousand quid in compensation because they can't be seen to back down when they're in the wrong.

If he was acutally arrested which is unclear... then thats assault for being handcuffed and false imprisonment for an unlawful arrest as well as disability discrimination ... Elliot is in line for 5 figures easy...

Someone send this video to CrimeBodge..

We have had his narrative, and I agree that it looks like a sledgehammer.
He's retired, so a pensioner, but he's 55, not a little old man.
He's terminally ill with multiple medical issues.......tell me how the officers knew that prior to attending?
He uses a wheelchair and zimmer frame to get about......which we know because the press photos show us in almost every one. Along with the walking stick with the pointy antler handle.

I'm not saying what happened was right. And I know that the police are struggling with public perception at the moment.
But we've only got a snapshot of this incident from one person's

Well eScooters currently count as a motor vehicle in law, ie the same as a car. The problem is thus if you use the Road traffic act the police need to store it for 14 days, to allow you to claim it back (by presenting valid insurance docs, which is an impossibility). After fourteen days it can be scrapped.

In the city centre I'm familiar with you'll easily see 10-20 of these damn things per hour. So say the police have a crackdown over a week. 8 hours would net you 120 average, lets say 100. So that's technically 700 per week (although it'll likely be lower, as once word gets round, and the repeat offenders get caught). But even having to store 2-300 would be an issue. Then there's registering and tracking the eScooters, as they don't have serial numbers or any means of identifying each unit.

Thus, I think it's more of a logistics/cost issue than a legal one.
And there is the nub of the issue. The British Police have stopped doing things because they are difficult. It is difficult to keep on top of the lawless so they leave them in peace. It is easy to get stuck into the majority who are pretty law abiding so they do.

Yes I know there are exceptions but mine is the majority view which the Police seem hell bent on proving correct.

There are decent individuals in the organisation but the organisation is out of kilter with the decent majority.

The law is unenforceable. Why do these cops persist in trying to enforce it.
The government's own web site states in clear English that you dont need a medical report / examination to claim an exemption. It simply lists reasons you could claim it, one being that wearing a mask would cause you distress. It states you can not be asked to state the reason for your exemption nor can you be asked to provide written exemption. Should you wish there are some example documents you can print of to state you are exempt if that makes you more comfortable.
The intention is that enough of the population will follow the rules to prevent the spread of infection with the acknowledgement that a percentage won't.

These scooters - many US cities have them as a means of transport, a bit like Boris bikes in London. You rent them using an app on your phone, go where you are going and then leave them there. The company that runs them just drives a van round and picks them up if no-one re-rents it from where it ended up, or needs charging.

Only there is a problem in Atlanta, which is the home of Georgia Tech. Tech is a very prestigious research university, and a degree from Georgia Tech is a job guarantee for life. However, the university engineering students have a need for motors and batteries for their robotics projects and the like. Hence the scooters keep disappearing. Apparently there is a room on campus that is stuffed full of scooters with no motors or batteries. The bigwigs know about it, but are too embarrassed to do anything about it.

Perhaps that’s an avenue for the problem in London? Once the 14 days are up, donate them to universities and schools for their components.

If he is going to be charged, it’ll probably be S5 POA. But CPS will probably bottle it and he won’t be charged.
Funny how the paper frames it one way, completely neglecting to show the massive unit in all his glory. He suddenly goes from being a frail old, dying man to a rather large type of troublemaking rugby player.

Odd how perceptions can skew, no?

It’s always the case, they’ll print a LOB, but when or if it is proved that he was a bellend when he was arrested nothing is ever said.

Would it be worth the police investing in a halfway competent PR department? They really do seem to set themselves up for ridicule sometimes, although it's nothing to be scared of it is quite damaging reputation wise.

Yup.. and the Mask W@anker cop literally says "yor under arrest for not wearing a mask"... which is not an arrestable offence.... So the GMP officers are comitting assault and false imprisonment for arresting the poor bloke..

What happens before?

I watched a part of the Man U game on Sunday

I didn't see GMP's finest wading into the crowd at Old Trafford to arrest the 10's of 1000's who were packed in like sardines and not wearing masks.

2 outstanding ex - members of the Police Farce

Two police officers who took and shared pictures of murdered sisters did so for “cheap thrills and bragging rights” a judge said on Monday before jailing them for nearly three years.

They also admitted superimposing their faces on the pictures and sharing images via WhatsApp with other junior officers they were mentoring.

Sound like a right pair of b@wb@gs.
