The Passing of an Unsung hero

I didn`t quite know where to put this but for me its very current. Mods feel free to move it if its in the wrong place.

A good friend of mine died earlier this evening, aged 94. I`d known him all my life.

Eric originally came from British Honduras to help contribute to the fight against Fascism in 1942. When the war ended he stayed in England. These guys worked as Lumberjacks in Scotland, providing Timber for the rebuilding of the country after the ravages of WWII.

A short documentary about Eric and the other 1500 volunteers who came from the tropical climates of Mid America to what they referred to as the "Motherland" - to do their bit for Queen and Country can be watched here:

RIP Mate.

I'll raise a glass to him. Certainly more deserving of a mention of recognition than "certain others".
