The Papers want tax breaks!!

WTF why in fuck should these peddlers of lies and half truths be given tax breaks at our expense. Thought we lived in a world that if you couldn't exist within the market you went tits up.

Ministers must "think creatively" about offering tax breaks to newspapers to help them through a "difficult" time of falling sales and revenue, peers say.

The Lords communications committee found the printed press was in "crisis", with local papers under particularly "severe" pressure.

It said more money was needed to ensure investigative journalism could survive.

I would be happy to subsidise real investigative journalism (and for TV as well) and I would help make it commercially competitive (as well as pay for the subsidy) by taxing sh1t sheets, celebrity magazines and anything remotely connected with Daytime TV formats or phone polls.

I like to think I already do, through my subscription to Private Eye. The rest of the rags, as private for-profit enterprises, should be left to the tender mercies of the market and Hell mend 'em.

If it's been sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk then I'm probably pissed.
