the one that got away

#1
currently writing my autobiography, provisionally titled "21 years before the (stacker) mast, a history of blanket stacking, 1971-92" but wondered if i could reuse "the one that got away" as i seem to be the only writer never to have served in special forces, nor been a member of the general staff. all suggestions welcome....

I wanted to call my seminal work "Sabre Squadron" but found that Simon Raven had used the title for his own magnum opus covering his National Service in the 1960s. I found a better title, then found that Cameron Spence (one of THEM) had used "Sabre Squadron" for his tales from the sandpit. Tales From The Sandpit sounds like a great title IMHO, but I never had the pleasure.

I thought it a bit cheeky since the term is very much cavalry and borrowed by THEM.

If SF can shamelessly re-use titles, why shouldn't you?

Rather than just borrowing them, why not just alter the titles subtly instead.

Take my forthcoming memoirs "Immediate Traction" for example.
