The next pandemic?

its partly why flattening the curve was such a terrible idea, we risk having millions underexposed when the next covid or flu hits from september.
Underexposed to COVID? Where are you getting that from? More COVID, more opportunity for mixing I would have thought.

Seriously though, it took three months according to official figures to infect the first million cases.
A million new cases have been recorded in the last eight days.
I am probably talking bollocks that is made up by some underpaid journalist, but it might be true, and if so it seems like that most of us are fukted.

a combination of stupidity, virtue signalling/self righteousness and ignoring sensible advice will be the next big killer, it's probably already helping covid 19

but C19 has not been any worse or nastier than a bad flu outbreak when you remove the fiddled figures.

it is worrying though that a covid is producing flu like complications.

the studies on deaths from lockdown and its effects are interesting for every 10m lost to the economy you have one extra death on top of the missed cancer diagnosis, loneliness and depression etc..

in your own field I wonder how many dental abscesses have gone into the brain because sufferers didn't know how to get it sorted. I'm pretty sure my shattered tooth will need removing my mum reckons two of hers are at risk.

No known cases of sepsis from a dental infection causing death during this period.

However there have been several suicides of dentists linked to the situation

private dentists with big mortgages on house and practise I assume?

Mixed practices, ie NHS and private.

Not the top echelon.

Ironically the fully private are not bound by the same regulations as those with an NHS contract and they did not have to shut.

Underexposed to COVID? Where are you getting that from? More COVID, more opportunity for mixing I would have thought.
this variant is a lot milder that forecast in the idiot imperial models so not enough have been exposed to this variant. that is underexposed.

if a nastier mutation comes along those exposed will already have some form of immunity that their bodies will use. those denied exposure run the risk of having a worse experience.

as the 1917 outbreak mutated its way around the world it was killing in 12 hours by the third mutated wave.

the simplest proven way (soviet study from way back) to prepare the vulnerable for flu and covids is to give them oral polio vaccine - the way C19 or flus hit hardest is because the immune system tales 3-4 days to kick in and do some fighting. having a current or recent infection response can help you fight off new ones.
