Best not to underestimate how badly they want a female leader, regardless of how able they are, it's eating them up that they're well behind the 'diversity' stakes as pretty much all other parties have had a Doris at the helm already.

Not sure where this leaves Beaker Starmer though.
He could always claim discrimination. 50% of the population are male, but 80% of the leadership candidates are female.

RLB and Starmer would destroy the Party. I'm going to vote for Thornbury, if only to save Labour.

It's for the best. You'll thank me for this one day.

Labour might well be trying to elect a new leader, but it also might well be that the next Labour prime minister hasn't been born yet...

Looking at the Labour party leadership and how critical it appears to be makes me worry about Boris and the Conservatives.
How good will the Conservatives and Brexit etc be if Boris choked on a eclair ?

I wouldn't want any sort of sexual contact with her thank you very much...
Talking of Lib Dems, the word "pan" is used in a flight emergency*. Just saying.
In Spain and Glasgow it's a loaf.
As for Labour, it's almost brown bread (dead).

*ETA - @exbluejob has correctly pointed out that pan-pan is used in a state of urgency rather than emergency.:thumright:
In that case lib dems are just desperate ;)

The labour party need a woman leader to create a contrast to Boris.
The labour party need a person who can connect with the old working class and that rules out Thornberry and RLB. That leaves Jess or Nandy; the first is a screaming harridan beloved by the BBC and by a process of elimination Nandy is the candidate.

However, as I despise the labour party my money is on RLB and an onward march of socialism.

{Pedant head on}
The radiotelephony message PAN-PAN is the international standard urgency signal that someone aboard a boat, ship, aircraft, or other vehicle uses to declare that they have a situation that is urgent, but for the time being, does not pose an immediate danger to anyone's life or to the vessel itself. This is referred to as a state of "urgency".

This is distinct from a mayday call (distress signal), which means that there is imminent danger to life or to the continued viability of the vessel itself.

Guys, I hate to be awkward, but I accidentally voted incorrectly on the thread's poll.

Can I have another vote? Another 'referendum'?

Please? Come on, a lot of the original voters have probably died since this afternoon, so there should be another.
