What iron should I buy for basic?

I have no idea what constitutes a good iron! I live with students! I’ve not ironed in 5 years!

Why buy an iron? If you join the RLC there appear to be quite a few irons hanging around the trainees...

I'll get my smock...I have my own transport.

I recommend a good healthy diet and don't bother with supplements.
So, an "Iron" has just recommended you take iron, in a thread about irons... how very droll.

All jokes aside, that's what I used. Filled with sand to retain the heat and iron over a towel to keep the soot off your clothes.

Mind, things have come a long way since then. I gather that there's no longer a GD squad to peel the spuds....
