The Mean Green Bridge is not obsolete

The canal in Garmsir was bridged last night using an MGB and the lads continued on to support the Inf clear through the the far bank.

As usual the Field Hoggies did the job in a professional, confident and quiet manner that we are accustomed to.

Fuk That

Im actually quite impressed with the beebs latest reporting from the stan.
They even managed to show a dead taliban sentry. Which I thought was rather daring for them :D

Fair play the sappers, and everyone else involved

Missed the footage myself, but heard about it on the radio. Well done lads, keep up the good work. :worship:

Does anyone know if it was stripped out again the following day?

An historic event! Well proud of the lads who did it (Sqn named yet?) and so very glad they did it without being taken out. To that end , A huge thanks to the lads who provided the cover. Army undoubtedly being the Best. 8)

Looking forward to the write up in the Sapper Mag! Should make for good reading.

Hardcore bridging indeed.. 'Pin in, Mother f*****'

Nice to see that the boys can still throw together a 'Mean Green Bridge' ... takes me back ...

"Are you top or bottom panels young B*****"?

"Both Staff ... when I'm not doing end of bridge or knocking f**king pins in"!

"Good lad ... soon have you on decking and ramping".

Well down fellers!

From the Inde "The first such combat build for half a century - across a canal, giving Nato troops a foothold in the territory." Still no mention of Sqn or Regt involved, anyone know who´s providing the Sapper support to 12 Mech Bde
To answer my own question just did a google 26
