The Royal Signals Reserve? When you have done 22 in the regulars you can go onto reserve. Until then, you might mean the TA. In which case, you aren't allowed to carry your sixer rank across with you.

Actually, if you've served 22 years reckonable regular service as an OR, then you should not be a Regular Reserve nor have Reserve liability. It's those that have served less than 22 that are (theoretically) obligated. Officers, as with so much else, are an entirely different matter.

Tornado, ask in the TA forum as it's crawling with Signals types who could probably give you a steer.
