Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Sort of blows the other thread out of the water, dunnit

  2. What the one about them bein disbanded? Yeah haha.

  3. Dunno 'bout that 'Sven'. Unless my memory serves me ill, the Staffordshire Regiment were sent to the first Gulf War under the threat of disbandment.

Military requirements will have NOTHING to do with the retention or otherwise of the Brigade of Gurkhas. The decision will be taken by a civilian 'bean-counter' (either civil servant or 'special advisor'), employed in the Branch Office of No. 10 Downing Street, which is commonly referred to as The Treasury.
