The greatest bands - who do you want back?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Reformations abound at present it would seem...

    Reunion fever sweeps rock world

It might make for a great summer - who fancies a Glastonbury headlining The Police, Genesis (albeit without PG) and RATM among others?

Or we could get the Jesus and Mary Chain back. Goody.

So - nice easy one for Friday - who would you like back and why?

    And who not?

And is this Johnny Lydon or Keith Flint?

Yes I know it's Johnny Lydon
  2. The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

I do see a flaw in it and it also applies to a number of other bands I'd like to see. Led Zeppelin, the original AC/DC line up etc.
  3. Neither, it's Vivien from the Young Ones!! :headbang:

  4. Thin Lizzy - but Phil Lynott might not be the stage presence he was, what with him being dead and all.
  5. Yes - I did consider the mortality issue and chose to ignore it.

I do think that we should consider bands and not individuals as it is far easier (too easy) for individuals to make a comeback. How many times did bloody Sinatra do this?

So Death not an issue (it mercifully spares us Elvis yet denies us Cobain and Morrison etc) but plurality is. Let's talk about bands.

For my part I would love The Jam back and the Sugarcubes might put Bjork back on the rails but dread the thought of Abba!

Like the article says, Pink Floyd.

Nothing else needs be said really. End of.
  7. Soundgarden :headbang:
Marillion with or without fish (Steve Hogarth is a very good frontman). :numberone:
Rainbow :headbang: The group, not the kids programme!

  9. The Wombles
  10. Ramones..............As a solo act!
  11. Robre, full marks that man!!!

However, I did buy the recent Rainbow DVD from the 80s and it was cringworthy in the nth degree.

Jo Lynn Turner was just so not rock!!! Bring back Dio, even with castles and wizards he ruled!! Plus we'd have to bring Cozy Powell back from the dead, which would not be a bad thing.
  12. Take That to reform and come back with a great ballad...

    oh wait....
  13. Sort it out
  14. Wah...
  15. Anyone seen Jethro Tull recently? 'Kin awesome for a bunch of geriatrics!
