The Falklands Factor

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A just and legal war orchestrated by a courageous leader = Votes.

An illegal adventure laid on by a third rate 'wanabee' = Opprobrium.
  2. Yes. And I'm honoured and privileged as a tax payer to contribute towards the £130 million per year it costs to keep those Falkland Islanders protected and British, with their wishes sacrosanct. It's money well spent and the fact that we could pour all that cash into life-saving NHS treatments or a cure for cancer or enhanced care for pensioners or improved public services is neither here nor there. That's all totally irrelevant and a distraction, I tell you.
  3. Neatly summarised.

And the fact that the "illegal adventure laid on by a third rate 'wanabee'" is also for the direct benefit of US-based hydrocarbons multinationals makes it even more deserving of UK voters' opprobrium.
  4. £130 million is what we spend on the NHS every 12 HOURS!

We spend another £130 million on welfare every 14 HOURS.
  5. Cheers. Points taken AM.

But a cure for cancer tomorrow could mean in the future we'll spend the same amount every 12 centuries on the NHS. Or not, as the case may be. I haven't 'done the math'.
  6. If you're so worried about the cure for cancer why not advocate stoping the social to the tune of £130m rather than appearing to want to hang the Bennies out to dry FP? I know who I value more.
  7. Oh yes here we go. More predictable welfare-bashing. Funny how the big business-owned press always slag off the poor for being "scroungers", when in reality dole payments are peanuts compared to the lorryloads of taxpayers' money handed out to the rich in the form of tax breaks and PFI contracts week-in, week-out.

And people wonder why the media suck up to NewLabour so much! I think corporation tax cut down to a pitiful 28% might have something to do with it. Oh, and in other news, it's big surprises all 'round as Iraq's "democratic" government dishes out oil contracts to American and British petroleum companies....

Wake up British Armed Forces personnel!! Your lives are being sacrificed by Bliar for the sake of his rich friends!

Humanitarian intervention? More like old-fashioned Imperialism if you ask me. A.k.a. rich people getting poor people to risk their lives grabbing other poor people's loot on their behalf.
  8. I'd have more respect for Danby's views were it not expressed in rabble-rousing extracts from the Socialist Worker nagazine. It does not matter how much money we give the NJS - they will always spend that much and more. Amongst the good stuff - and I write as one who lost his daughter to cancer - is the money expended on IVF for women who gave their fertile years to working instead of motherhood and other 'fashionable' medecine.

Ha ha ha ha ha - what a boneheaded tw@t. Uninformed rubbish as usual.
