Japan and the United States have reached an agreement on the touchy issue of funding the relocation of U.S. Marines to Guam, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe said on Monday.
...
Japan will fund $6.09 billion, 59 percent of the total cost of moving 8,000 Marines from the southern island of Okinawa to Guam, Abe told a news conference.
So only Japan will pay $760,000 for every marine. Probably each one will have own villa on Guam.

Half of that will be the funding for all the new medals they'll "earn" in transit.

Maybe. Property prices are much cheaper on the Kuril Islands though, aren't they Sergey?

They'll just need to learn Japanese (oops, I mean Russian)
Ex_ex!

Japs paid $6 bln. only for the relocation of 8000 from their own island. I fancy how many they could pay for the relocation of all Russians from Southern Kurile islands. And the land, fish-rich waters. I fear it would be too expensive even for Japan to pay all compensations.

As for property prices then $760,000 in Moscow is not a big money to buy a very good flat.

A Flat: 170 sq.m

Price: $1,870,000

Maybe this?

A Flat: 51 sq.m

Marines? The USMC is notorious for being stingy about giving out medals. The Army gives them out for just showing up.
