The U.S. Army has ordered soldiers to stop posting to blogs or sending personal e-mail messages, without first clearing the content with a superior officer, Wired News has learned. The directive, issued April 19, is the sharpest restriction on troops' online activities since the start of the Iraq war. And it could mean the end of military blogs, observers say.

Trying to silence the web is like pushing the genie back in the bottle - can't be done.

Typical of the narrow minded trying to suppress the truth rather than dealing with it.

There is a story I heard, from a Coldstreamer, probably about a signaller who hit the tit during radio silence on exercise and said:

I AM P1SSED OFF, I AM P1SSED OFF.

Back came the reply from the C.O.

HELLO UNKNOWN CALL-SIGN, THIS IS NINER, IDENTIFY YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY.

Answer:

I'M NOT THAT P1SSED OFF.

Moral: Those in high places cannot do anything about sites like this.
KEEP POSTING.

Trust me on this-they can. For a start, they could block this site so you could only use it at home.
