    I'm not sure how I feel about this;

    On the one hand I'm pleased that HM has decided that it is a good thing that she, and we, should recognise the families of the fallen, on the other I can't help but get the feeling that a venal government (and come to that, government in waiting) probably feel that there is probably some mileage in this for them.

    Away from my feelings, I think that the cross looks good and that the scroll hits the right note in that it doesn't temper regret with sentimentality. The fact that the cross will have the name of the fallen engraved upon the reverse should go some way to stop grief walts from wearing them.
