Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

Why do the MOD insist on adding "The death was not related to Operation Moshtarak"? As if that would be consoling to the mum, dad, husband, wife, son or daughter, I dont want to turn this into a ghoulish post but would like to know the reason!
  2. It does seem very strange when they say that. Maybe they anticipate another enquiry only this time into that operation.

I wouldn't put it past them.
  3. The press are obsessed with attaching any incident to any operation, named or otherwise.

This simply clarifies that this incident was not connnected with Operation Moshtarak. It helps to cut down on the never ending speculation and going nowhere questions that 24hrs news streaming throws up.
