2,000 years of history, in bite sized chunks, simplified for the hard of thinking, filtered through, I'm guessing, an American PC viewpoint. One of the best intellectual series was 'The ascent of man' written and presented by Dr J. Bronowski. Also a part American production. Worth watching even now.

If the last few years of revisionist pap is anything to go by; this will be U-571 presented by Mrs Clinton, and Victoria Beckham.

I would hope to be wrong, but I doubt it.

It's all about the English then, because hardly anyone considers themselves British in my neck of the woods.

As long as they have an at least one episode dedicated to the Greatest Empire The World Has Ever Seen On Which The Sun Never Set it could be alright!

Civilisation by K Clark* was rather good too, he was a proper old school gent and probably inspired the young David Attenborough.
