The Brexit Consequences Thread

The largest state subsidy to any industry in UK history was the bail-out of the banks. Not one of the thieves was ever asked to pay back a penny of the trillions they stole and given they bankroll the political parties it was never going to be otherwise. Steal a Mars bar and risk a jail sentence. Steal pensioners life savings and you get a seat in the Lords.

The answer to all that is dead easy.

All you have to do is ask where the Labour Party had its funds lodged at that time.

The answer is in the Northern Rock.

Now you know why Mr Brown didn't hesitate to throw vast sums of the tax payers cash to keep them afloat.

Interesting comments which will infuriate the myopic believers.

Stating the blindingly obvious. The concept that Government can supply anything at all is a bit stupid anyway. You don’t go to your’e one stop Government shop whilst out shopping. But I’m pleased to see the myopic media doing their job undermining the non socialist Government. Grrr

You made a fundamental error in the above. You assume I have a dog in the fight and think one side of the political spectrum is 'better' than the other. Please re-read my original post and note I said:

''given they bankroll the political parties''

The 's' at the end of the last world is a convention we use to indicate it is describing more than one of something. The word 'party' could mean a right wing or left wing party. By placing the 's' at the end it means more than one party. Brown/Blair/Major/May/Boris have no distinctive features that I can see. They are, as Galloway so elegantly put it, all cheeks on the same arse

No error. It was a specific response to the bank bail out in 2008

Paying more will not increase the number of workers. The old-age-dependency ratio (the number of people of pensionable age for every 1,000 people of working age.)is forecast to rise from the current c.300 to 360 by 2043. The UK needs an injection of young people.
When does the injection end? When poeple are falling into the sea?

Woefully ill informed.

RBS, who I think were the largest bank in the world at the time, came within hours of running out of cash.

The knock on effect of that would have been utterly devastating.

I cannot remember if it was thread or the Boris Johnson thread that a couple of wibbling retards were howling about spunking money on satellite stuff - Namely a Company called OneWeb that Johnson ploughed public money into.

50% ownership I believe.

Guess what :) :)

Why would Brussels do this ?

He He He

I wonder if Johnson will tell the EU to take a hike - After all the EU is bigger & better than the UK and are so good they could have this done & dusted by next week :rolleyes:

Long term rental is far better than short term investment ;);)
The subject of the comment that is so far over your head it's in geostationary orbit was a replacement for the GPS system.

You've gleefully linked an article about broadband.

You mentioned whining retards...
