The Brexit Consequences Thread

Perhaps I'm twitchy, because as a Unionist living in Scotland, I already see the SNP milking this area for grievances - and the very real risk that any second independence referendum will result in a "Yes" vote, if the short-term disruptions are severe enough.

As another unionist living in Scotland I'm sure I don't need to point out that the SNP will milk any occurrence for grievance, like rain falling, the need to breathe, the sun rising etc etc...

Happy to help...

JB

Quite, I'm not excusing that either.

It is a horrible dynamic when it comes to politics.. Attitudes harden on both sides, disagreement becomes dislike, the centre ground where most truth exists is evacuated and the whole thing becomes about something else.

It's how civil wars start. I hate it.
And yet you labelled Brexit voters as :"obnoxious".

That must have been the caring sharing middle ground "obnoxious", not the other kind.

Every day etc...

Johnson needs to up his game, but compared with anything that Corbyn could have put together, he is doing pretty well.
Johnno would’ve outperformed Corbyn whichever. Currently Starmer is doing J’s job for him in continued navel gazing and failing to offer to work with J on improving the deal. Starmer has pretty much conceded that J is broadly on the right track, but thinks he can make capital out of BLM. He’s on very dodgy territory in that respect. I think the concessions that Johnno has squeezed out of the EU is promising and like all deals there will be down sides. But we do need to drag ourselves out of this morass of socialist victimhood.

I would like to think that came about after a period of self reflection.

On the other hand, I seriously doubt that the purveyor of......

Cake and Arsse Party

Wait and see

Time will tell

......coupled with a vast amount of wrong predictions, is capable of self reflection.

Own up

It was the Salvation Army you were in, not the British Army.

Lets hope a charismatic leader in a snappy uniform doesn't appear on the scene and start telling the German people that what they need are Potatoes
We have that already:

She doesn't got the grip on the right arm thingy but her totalitarism-score is impeccable. Ex-FDJ-Secretary for Agitation and Propaganda, supposedly Informer for the Stasi. The other beardy one was Informer back in 1919-1920 too. She will cope on our way to Großeuropa and that without one shot fired.

It looks like we'll be starting to manufacture in the UK again, in order to reduce dependence on Chinese factories. I hope that Brexit will give us the flexibility to pass any necessary legislation quickly, and set up free ports where factories won't be taxed so much.
This article discussed the effects of re-establishing national industries. He makes a good point when he says that consumers will expect goods to last longer if they have to pay more for locally-sourced products.

You seem to be a poster child for the problem.

Start with a distortion of the truth, say something irrelevant and vaguely hostile based on that untruth ....... and so it goes on.

There is at least on poster on arrse who is convinced that she is an agent-in-place for the Russians.
In which case, it won't be Großeuropa but Rossiyskaya Imperiya.

He said, without a hint of irony.

Feel free to enlighten us with some examples of my work. I am particularly interested in "distortions of the truth"

Many thanks in advance

(Although I will not be holding my breath)

Perhaps she could take lessons in saluting from Magic Grandpa

Somebody has put 10p in the mong again...

Liberal Democrat acting leader Sir Ed Davey said the advertising campaign would fill businesses struggling with the impact of the coronavirus with "utter horror".

He said ministers should be seeking "as close as possible relationship with the EU to not only minimise the damage to the UK, but allow both themselves and British business time to focus on getting the UK back on its feet again after the pandemic".

One day perhaps, he’ll wake up and understand that his utterly irrelevant wibbling is not going to make a difference to anything, ever.

Maybe he has a point. The woman is just intangible, indifferent, slippery as an octopus. She likes to turn her flag according to the wind and is totally colourless. What she likes to do is kowtow to any dictator.
