Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Mrs. Grills is going through her recently departed father's stuff. He was a Fleet Air Arm pilot.
Has anyone on here come across the Brevet Drinking Flying Club? Seems he was a member of this illustrious institution for quite a few years, judging by this licence.

You could always write to the Club Secretary listed on the licence.

Be interesting to see what kind of a response you would receive.

  5. I have a Saufpass somewhere that allows you to sleep off your drunk on a doorstep. Could be the same root?

  7. Thanks for all the replies, as mentioned above Google isn't very helpful.

I was just curious if anyone on here had any experience of the club.

  8. Yes, I went up to the club but after the war. Clive Reffet who ran the club was my father's partner during and
after the war. I remember it well. I still have a lapel badge that members could wear. It was still open well
    into the 1950s.

  9. It'd be something like this I reckon.
