The Biden Presidency

Who was the last President to run a surplus? When was the last Republican President who ran a surplus?
Don't say Bill Clinton

What a great segue for voter suppression, thanks.

Voter suppression is simply a series of acts or measures designed to prevent a specific group, or groups, of people voting. In the US, ethnic minorities, poor people, college students and otherwise disenfranchised people tend to vote Democratic, so historically voter suppression is aimed at them by Republican entities. It can work the other way, but rarely and less effectively.

The main types of voter suppression are:

  1. Voter registration problems - If you make it difficult to register, less people will vote. These measure range from narrow registration windows prior to an election, to making it geographically inconvenient for people to register.
  2. Voter purges - This is simply plucking bullshit reasons out of thin air to remove people from electoral rolls. In Ohio and other states, they have used "failure to vote in the previous two elections” as a measure for removal.
  3. Strict voter ID and ballot requirements -This is the selection of ID requirements knowing large areas of voters wont be able to comply. Drivers licenses are a great example, why should being able to drive determine your ability to participate in democracy? In Texas, a voter ID law requiring a driver's license, passport, military identification, or gun permit, was repeatedly found to be intentionally discriminatory.
  4. Voter confusion - Deliberate confusion created by election and party officials to prevent or nullify voting. They send information with the wrong election date, or misleading details about where your legal polling station is, or opening times etc.
  5. Voter intimidation and harassment - Sending out flyers about false criminal activity, haranguing voters at polling stations, tweeting empty threats by the FOC.
  6. Poll closures and long lines - Can't vote if there's nowhere to vote right? Polling station opening geared to maximize inconvenience and difficulty for minority voters. Poor black people don't get time off work during the day to go and vote. Drastic reduction in polling sites leads to long lines, discouraging voters.
  7. Malfunctioning voting equipment - Vote didn't count? Too bad, so sad.
  8. Disenfranchisement of justice-involved individuals - Criminals can't vote, but when they have paid their dues to society, they are supposed to be able to again. Florida voters voted yes to reinstate voting rights to released felons, but the Desantis and the GOP added a clause that said if they owed any fines or money, they still couldn't vote. Again, if not owing money was a precondition for voting eligibility, a lot of people would be out of the game. But these are people who committed crimes, so why should they have constitutional rights?
  9. Gerrymandering - Redrawing voting districts to include or exclude portions of the voters. Just look at a voting district map - if it is an irregular shape not determined by features like roads, rivers and natural features, you've been Gerrymandered.
So what single measure could eliminate Voter Suppression in one move?

Yes, you've guessed it -POSTAL VOTING. No wonder right wingers fight against it at every turn.

Hey Dumbass. I guess you think that having Black Panthers standing at Polling Stations and threatening people is OK then (# 5)? Police were ordered NOT to remove them as it would be bad optics. This intimidation crap goes on each cycle, yet they get a pass. Where’s the Right to Vote there? Intimidation. Threats. Fear.

You talk a lot of smack for someone sitting across the world who lives in a country that is pretty fucked up, in yours and others, own words.
We are witnessing the absolute destruction of our Constitution and Rights.
We are seeing our tax money handed over to programs to give money and services to non citizens pouring across our Borders.
Our Military is weak and our Military Leadership is so fixated on correct hair, gender orientation, and perceived White racism, that we’ve lost the ability to fight.
Our gas prices are soaring, food is running slow, services are getting nonexistent, and more people are just staying on relief instead of working.
Porous Borders with limited enforcement of laws.
Black crime is skyrocketing because Whites are made to feel guilty if they report it. There are no reasons on earth for Police to intervene when it’s a POC because the loss of a career isn’t worth it.
ambush murders of cops have skyrocketed and cops are no longer able to enforce law….against blacks, who BY LAW, are being released on minimum bond for murder.

And who did this magic? Biden and the rich Dems who are destroying the country. AOC and her cunty group of socialists, including radical Muslims that were allowed to be elected and are dismantling our way of life.

So Eff off when you try and tell ME how much you know about the US and it’s current status.

Don't say Bill Clinton
If it wasn't Slick Willy, then the last genuine surplus was under Nixon in 1969-70.

And people used to joke about Reagan being senile...

Uncle Joe is turning into the gift that keeps on giving. How long before he suffers a moment of public incontinence, or does something to a nearby female that's technically a criminal offence?
I can just imagine CNN with the incontinence......

"the president was splashed by a glass of water on his trousers. The man with the water was later discovered to be a Trump voter"

'Putin' it was a good attack line in 2016, but now it just smells like a proxy for your sides desperate attempts to maintain control.

The money printing may even save the DNC in 2024 with the help of the media. But the economy is not going to get turned around through any green revolution and spending what 115% of GDP by the end of he year, higher taxes, out of control inflation. Your sides arguments will deliver an historic election defeat, eventually.

P.S. If its 2024 with Trump, or 2028 with Di Santis the meltdown will be hysterical.
Honestly.... I'm just going to sit back and watch America implode with a beer in my hand in a nice recliner 3000 miles away.

You do understand that when Obama was president we were unable to do any trade deals. They were all done via the EU.

Yea, but he didn't make much of a secret that he didn't like us much. You think he would have been any more receptive to a deal than Biden if EU wasn't a factor?

At the end of the day you do what is good for your country. Slotting the UK into the US/Canada/Mexico deal maybe best for the US in the long run.

Trade and investment ties between the U.S. and UK are deep and enduring.

Investment is at the core of the U.S.-UK relationship.

  • The UK is the single largest investor in the United States. British companies have invested more than $560 billion in the U.S., accounting for more than 15% of all inbound foreign direct investment (FDI).
  • The U.S. is also the largest investor in the UK. American firms have invested nearly $758 billion in the British market, nearly a quarter of their total investment in Europe, and more than 12% of all U.S. FDI worldwide. The UK is the second largest recipient of U.S. investment worldwide (behind only The Netherlands).

Investments translate into American and British jobs.

  • More than 1.25 million Americans work for British companies in America, and over 1.5 million Britons are directly employed by U.S. affiliates. Bilateral trade and investment support millions more jobs indirectly.
  • Every American state has jobs that are connected to or originated from an investment by a UK company. These jobs are high quality and highly paid—in manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and financial services, among other sectors.
  • U.S. jobs supported by British investment are high quality and highly paid—in manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and financial services, among other sectors.

Trade ties are also strong, with room to grow.

  • The UK is the United States’ 7th largest trading partner and the 5th largest export destination for American goods and services.
  • 42,000 American firms export to the UK and more than 7500 have operations there.

Britain has always been a major trading partner, and will continue to be so. I was just pointing out that US priorities lie elsewhere. Given the Biden Administration’s concentration on their domestic agenda, it may take awhile before a UK trade deal happens.

Agree that the administration is concentrating on an agenda, whether it's a purely domestic one only time will tell and I don't think it's Biden doing the 'concentrating' either. It's more like the administrations staffers and Pelosi concentrating on THEIR agenda and Biden was the useful(?) tool that got them into power.

Unfortunately due to his declining cognitive ability said tool (Biden) is fast becoming more of a liability to the puppet masters rather than useful and boy do they know it. All clearly demonstrated by the increasingly staged and highly controlled appearances when Biden is rolled out in front of the press c/w tele prompter and notes only for the event to be curtailed if he rambles off subject. Just need to keep him going for 2 years and a day...

Is the agenda a purely domestic one? Only time and history will tell, personally I don't think it is and there is element of score settling going on by the likes of Pelosi and 'friends' in the background some of which is aimed at keeping the UK in the box, the EU as an irrelevant play thing and Ireland as a useful political flag waving thing to be rolled out at election time and for distraction when domestic matters are getting out of their control.

The West and the US in particular have royally feked up with regards to China by using the place to manufacture stuff cheaply.

This led to home grown industries closing factories in the West and moving production to China, it also means the tech know how has to be made available to allow for production which allowed China to simply copy it for their own purpose and exploit it without having to do the very expensive initial R&D. This fekup is now coming home to roost for the west.... Answers why the interest is all beginning to head towards Asia and the Southern Hemisphere in general.

Biden won't be an issue moving forward a bit, and neither will Pelosi given she's 81

Who else troublesome is waiting in the wings once they're out of the way. (besides Kamala)

81? A mere child. Strom Thurmond was 100 when he retired from the Senate.
