The best bulk beer deals

#1
Ok, with the world cup looming, and many of planning large camp outs in fornt of the goggle box with beer and Indian\Chinese food, so lets address the issue of where to get the best beer deals from. Some rules fist though:

1. National offers through large chains only (Tescos, Oddbins etc) unless rule 2 applies.
2. Small garrison off licences can be mentioned for convienience sake.
3. Decent beer only, no Kestral or White Lightning here please.

My first offering is Booths, a large chain in the NW of England who specialise in really good food and beer. On England match days they are reducing all of their bottled beer (500ml bottles) to around the £1 or below mark, some badger beer is 75p a pint!! And believe me, Booths beer isles are a paradise of real ale and imported excellance.

Try the Wine and Beer Warehouse in Coquelles, just outside the French end of the Channel Tunnel. Usually around £5.50 a case for Stella (24x25cl). Fill up with very cheap petrol/diesel while you are there too.
Any of the hypermarkets are very good on prices too. Try Auchan or Carrefour. There's also a Sainsburys and Tescos Wine Store.
For a day out go by ship from Dover as it is probably quite a bit cheaper than the tunnel.

It's hardly popping out for a take away and some beers is it?

Actually Speedy, it can be.

We've gone over after work in an evening, straight into the hypermarkets, load up, have a meal and be back home in no time with a loaded car with a rattling boot. The car parks there are filled with UK registration cars whose owners are all doing the same thing.

That reminds me, I'm on the last case of Stella, time to book another trip!
