There's 16 groups split into four leagues - Leagues A, B, C and D each with four groups (A1, A2, A3, A4, B1 etc). All of the UEFA teams were allocated into the leagues according to their standings in the UEFA rankings for this first tournament but there'll be promotion and relegation for subsequent tournaments.

They play each other home and away, at the end the four group winners in League A will play two single Semi Finals at neutral venues then there's a Final and Third/Fourth Place Play Off.

The bottom side in each group (and the worst 3rd placed side in League C) is relegated to the next league down and the group winners in Leagues B, C and D all get promoted.

The seedings for the qualifying groups for the Euros will be done according to the final standings in the groups too - League A teams will be seeded 1-12, League B 13 - 24, League C 25 - 39 and League D 40 - 55.

Basically just a way to make friendlies more meaningful and make UEFA more money from the TV rights.
:scratch:Who ever dreamt that up is a fecking genius.
I'm with you on international football, for me it spoils the season.

Real Madrid have announced the sacking of Julen Lopetegui as manager.

So they've screwed Spain in the World Cup, cost themselves nearly £20m, been absolutely twatted in El Clasico and they've sacked him after only four months.

Antonio Conte is apparently favourite to replace him, which should at least cheer Thibaut Courtois up...

River Plate and Boca Juniors meet tonight in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final (the first leg finished 2-2).

Boca Juniors held a training session at La Bombonera in midweek, a stadium with a 49,000 capacity.

So many people turned up to watch that the city council have had to punish them for being over capacity. For a training session.

Cope Libertadores may be postponed. Boca's bus was attacked on the way to the stadium and several players have reportedly been injured either by flying glass from the broken windows or suffering the effects of tear gas either from River Plate fans or police trying to disperse the fans. Boca demanding that CONMEBOL doctors check the players amid reports that they're not fit to play tonight.

Postponed for hour, reportedly (2100 new KO UK time, being shown on BT Sport 2).

The Copa Libertadores final was finally postponed to 2100 tonight. A lot of trouble outside the ground as fans left apparently and Boca are reluctant to play the game tonight fearing for the safety of their players.

South American football is mental!

CONMEBOL have confirmed that the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final will be played on either 8th or 9th of December and will be played outside of Argentina.

Boca are reportedly very unhappy and think they should be awarded a walk over.

Playing Torn (Torn - Online RPG game - Free text based game) I decided to stick $10 million Torn Dollars on Newport to win today. $95 million return wasn't too bad at all.

In real life, I figured that we had a chance, seeing as we nearly did for Spurs last year.

Leicester obviously didn't watch the tapes of those matches and we won the match. We outplayed them in the first half and hung on with some desperate defending in the second. Their goal was a cracker, but our newest player, signed on friday, got us a penalty which Amond slotted home nicely.
