Spurs are now the first team ever to lose eight FA Cup semi finals in a row.
You've got to laugh at that. Did you here about the new viagra? It's called SPURS VIAGRA, for the Spurs man who can only reach a SEMI.

Stoke draw again today against burnley, when it's wins that they need.

With just 3 games left for them, i believe their only realistic chance of survival is a max 9 points and Swansea failing to pick up 4 (possibly 3) points from their remaining 4 fixtures. There are 4 others who could be overhauled by stoke, but it looks unlikely.

They are effectively down and while it's sad to see most teams relegated, they are probably a team the prem will miss the least. Hughes got them playing more attacking football, which wasn't hard from pullis' dire tactics, but I can't say I've watched too many enjoyable games.

They have a few 'star' players that are likely to see the vultures come looming. Shakiri and Butland are the most obvious, while Martins Indi, Ndiyi, Allen and Fletcher are too good for the championship

Look at their performance over the season ... or over the last three games - they cannot/will not pick up three points a game over their next/last three games. They are gone.

In a way I feel sorry about that - there used to be a bit of a thing about going to play Stoke at the Britannia Stadium. Arsenal in particular did not like it. But on more recent performances/form I can't say that they are a loss to the premier league.

It was entertaining in a funny way, in that the 'agricultural' football of pullis use to piss fancy football managers like Wenger when they came up short.

Wasn't great overall though as their games against the lesser teams was generally poor affairs to watch.

Kept them in the league though. It was godawful to watch (especially when it was your team being kicked off the park) but it was effective. It's the same reason Allardicio keeps getting to guzzle gravy at various clubs.

If Everton lose to Newcastle tonight, he could well be looking for a new tit to suckle from tomorrow ( with any luck, the fat clueless self important ****** )

He is super arrogant and without much of a basis to be so.

The everton fans seemed to dislike him from day 1 and that situation has not improved. Regardless of the season end, I can't see him being at the club next year

Gotta say I would love it if he was shit canned as a direct result of tonight's fixture. Stoke next for him

I see that Stevie Gerrard is being heavily linked to the Rangers job.

Big ask given his lack of knowledge and contacts in the Scottish game, but fair play if he gets it. That is going to be a difficult job to catch Celtic

I must make an observation though, not much criticism on arrse regarding his lack of experience (compared to the recent Neville and giggs national appointments). Methinks tribal loyalty and the green eyed monster are factors

I think he's mad. I could be wrong but I don't think he's catching Celtic given their relative budgets. And the last time Rangers had a cash injection it worked out SO well.....

The expectation levels will be so unrealistic. Rangers are no longer a big club and are currently way behind Celtic in resource terms, this will only get worse with Celtic practically guaranteed a European windfall every year.

If he wanted to go to Scotland then a Edinburgh team or someone like Aberdeen would be better. Broadly similar in terms of resources to rangers, but far less expectation where 'sucess' will be judged differently.

Gerrard could potential use his personal and Liverpool connections to bring in 'twilight' players (e.g. Barry, Glen Johnson, Milner) and Liverpool loanees to bolster his meagre resources, giving him a reasonanle crack at celtic. At rangers, he'd risk getting sacked within a season in what is currently a futile target of catching Celtic.

All the above assumes he's developed a good enough managerial attributes (which are distinct from purely a coaching and youth management role)

Your posting history suggests you would think that, however, not everyone thinks like you ^~

He hasn't got the job yet so there wasn’t much point in commenting.

But now that you have raised the subject, I think it is @ bad move for him and the club.

For the club, he has not been tested at any real level and is a total unknown/unproven entity.

For him, Rangers are way behind Celtic and are skint, he could completely trash his reputation, this early in his embryonic career.

Pick the ‘green eyed monster’ out of that :)

I think it all depends on whether the Jocks can understand scouse or not.
Everything could be lost in translation, team talks will soon degenerate into "Och, wots he saying now?" And Stevie shoutin "CALM DOWN CALM DOWN".

The above may or may not happen, but it's possible, if I were a Liverpool supporter I would naturally be hoping he doesn't "slip up".

Although there has been no sectarian split Celtic/Rangers to Liverpool/Everton that I can remember since I started going to the match (the Celtic v Rangers chant used to about equal), in recent years and certainly since Hillsborough, Liverpool seem to have more of an affinity with Celtic.

I am not sure Rangers is a wise career move for any manager of such inexperience.
