The BBC: are claims of political bias justified? Part 2.

Can someone tell me why? I’ve nothing against the lady but why did Sue Barker and the others have to go?

i.e. "We don't want to know what whitey thinks about this decision. Stop seeing colour! Now, back on your knees"

Why?
Isn't it obvious? The BBC and mainstream media fecking hate you for being white, voting for Brexit, voting for Boris and voting for Trump.
I'm entirely convinced that this is rubbing our noses in and we must change.
There will be many more 'replacements' of white hosts on TV favourites.
Take it back to fundamentals.

How does this improve* things? What was Sue Barker doing that was so wrong, other than being white? And if there's no other answer than that one, then what has just been done is racial discrimination and the BBC should be had for it.

*And define 'improve'.

SWMBO calls it the 180 Rule.

Turn a situation through 180 degrees. If it becomes unfair, then it was already unfair.

No offence to your good lady, but Socrates was there well before her with 'elenchus'.

Always worth doing to test an argument's validity though.

I was just listening to R4 Today and Matt Hancock was being harassed by a presenter over testing as he was trying to make a comparison with Europe. The presenter, (Justin summat) interrupted to say "Never mind about Europe" to which Hancock responded "Words not heard on this programme for many years" Long pause....
Yes, I actually spat coffee this morning. The stain on the carpet is well worth it (although I will obviously blame the cat when SWMBO notices it).

Not that the cat drinks much coffee.

She's very touchy about her age - landmark birthday this November - though had she been around at the same time as Socrates I'm sure she'd have put him right on a few things.

...a bit like she did the Michelin-starred chef at the restaurant we ate at a few years back ("Oh, I wouldn't cook it that way..."). It never really happened, apparently. I was just making it up.

I just asked her to rate her hangover on a scale of 1 to 10.

It went very quiet for a while.

I see Lineker couldn’t help wading in to basically call anyone who disagrees with the changes a racist.
Knob. Perhaps the ones moaning just preferred Barker &/or Tufnell.

Lineker using the race card? That’s cultural appropriation that is.

I have a list of those I'd like replaced. Funnily enough Sue Barker featured on it...

And then it's his turn to be replaced with an ethnic minority and suddenly it'll be a different story, no doubt...

I’d point & laugh if him & his guffawing acolytes were binned in favour of a black/younger/female replacement.

He’d style it out though & just say he’s happy & it’s about time etc etc.
He’d then go back to his mansion & count all the coins that I’ve been forced to pay him (despite having zero interest in football) for many years.

Dislike him? Me? No way.

There's a fundamental conceit here: that QoS can only be relevant to a black audience if the presenter is black.

The corollary is this: it will no longer be relevant to a white audience if the main presenter isn't white.

The BBC is playing a very silly and dangerous game.

It's the £1.0m pay rise for Zoe Ball that gets me. All of a sudden she seems to be looking very attractive

Bizarre that Orla Guerin who risks her life in some of the world's most violent and unpleasant places is on 10% of Zoe Ball's salary, the latter of whom seems largely to play records and moan about the school run.

She loses money for having such an annoying voice.
So annoying in fact, that I am forced to mute the sound while she’s whining on.
Also a face that can sour milk at 50 paces.
