Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The response to The Abandoned Soldier statue has been very
encouraging and there is now talk of this sculpture being used to
raise awareness and money for soldiers living with the effects of war.

Miniature bronze versions of The Abandoned Soldier have been made,
but due to their bespoke nature and the material used, they have
proved very expensive. In response to this, lapel pins, cufflinks and
limited prints are to be made which will raise money for Combat
Stress and The Abandoned Soldier Fund, which aims to create a
permanent full sized bronze sculpture in London.

A number of pictures have been taken of The Abandoned Soldier in
which the emotion of the sculpture changes depending on the angle
it's viewed from. Due to the symbolic nature of the sculpture the
artist feels that the soldiers and veterans should decide which image
    best represents them.
