That was not the end

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Someone, somewhere, decided how best to handle the death of Abu Musa in a neat way that caused least harm to the Army. Stay Schtum, give them one for guilty. All nice and home for tea. All - no not all - most soldiers say serves him right.
Except, it didn't work out that way. Now the fit has really hit the Shan and all deaths are to be looked at. See if you can make this one go away.
  2. To be clear though it refers to all deaths in custody, not as a result of kinetic operations.

As affects policy the ruling is a little bit silly, in the real world it all depends what variety of naughty cat you have if the bloke you have captured is really naughty then pass him to those who will get the most from him and are not subject to any restrictions at all, and if he isnt really that naughty then process him as you would a UK citizen and either way it will all work out better.

It makes Blackwaters support packages an attractive option for even more close ops, maybe thats where intervention ops like TELIC should go anyway?
  3. Except for the fact that all the ‘lucrative’ bits of the military get farmed out to the PMCs (on a lowest bidder/ most well connected to the Whitehouse or No10 basis) and the military are progressively reduced in capability and composition until we are no longer in a position to achieve our defined mission in terms of national security.

[One of the PMCs is already advertising its ability to project force on demand with a Mech Bde complete, FFS!]
