Is there any truth in the story that whiter teeth are weaker? My wife has really white teeth and a gob full of fillings and fixes. On the other hand mine are not gleaming white, never have been, but I've got to my late fifties with only one filling and no sign of deterioration.

Try chewing these, should work and they are very cheap.

No truth at all.
Colour relies on a number of factors.

To prevent my smile from looking like the Norwich City team photo, I use Eucryl tooth powder and Pearl Drops.
Don't go full Tipp-Ex straight away :-D
Hammerite smooth gives a nice bright finish.
Does what it says on the tin.

Reminds me of many types of "This will make you so much prettier / better / healthier" stuff.

A mate got his eyes done with laser surgery, is now blind in one eye and medically discharged. It worked fine for a while, he could see soundwaves and the future, but over time it started to go downhill and now he can't see a thing through one.

Another mate got colonic irrigation. Was skipping about like a new born lamb stating how wonderful it was, got an infection up his hoop from the equipment and had to have quite severe surgery, now can't shit properly.

Having said that, I've always fancied the ear vacuum thing to get shot of any deep, hidden wax. Those videos on YouTube are like porn.

You're a cheerful fecker aren't you?

My wife had them done here in Spain. €200 and (I think) 4 visits to the dentist. She's very pleased with them and they do look better even though not sparkly white which would probably look a bit false.

I asked about mine and they said no. Few caps, I smoke (and drink coffee a lot) and they said it wouldn't come out very good and would only last a short while unless I binned the smoking and coffee and wouldn't improve the caps.

(Top tip. If you bite into an olive, make sure there's no stone in it. Chipped two bloody teeth with a big crunch and can't get bugger all done as the dentists here are only doing emergency work at the moment. Sodding annoying.)

My Mum (God rest her) looked after hers, got them checked every 6 months, used picks and floss and so on.
93 when she shed the mortal coil and still had all her teeth. Me? Got five missing altogether at the back and the gleaming white smile is not really something that bothers me. I suppose if all your teeth show when you talk or smile then it would be worth getting them done but 400 quid seems as bit harsh.

Oh, and ref the Eucryl tooth powder, I used to use it all the time until a dentist in UK said I might as well use Ajax powder as it was wearing away the enamel. Not sure if that's true cos they were definitely whiter back then. Mind you, she also told me to use warm water when I brushed them as that's what you use to clean the rest of your body. Never felt fresh when I did that.
