  1. The annual Tank Memorial Ypres Salient Ceremony commemorating the Battle of Messines will take place on the above date at 11.00hrs. The Memorial is located in the village of Poelkapelle Belgium and represents all tank actions that took place in the Ypres Salient during WW1. Please go http://www.tankmemorial.vpweb.co.uk/ for the full information. The weekend of events also includes a special last post ceremony at the Menin Gate Memorial dedicated to the TMYS amongst others. The Sunday morning will see guided tank action battlefield tours on the Messines Ridge itself. Last years Inauguration Ceremony was a superb success and this years is shaping up likewise.

Family members of Capt Clement Robertson VC ( 1st VC to the Tank Corps, the friends of the Lincoln tank and Philippe Gorzcynski MBE, of the tank Deborah and Cambrai Memorial will also be attending amongst others )

There will be a small reception immediately after the annual ceremony in the Cafe de Zwaan across the road from the Memorial.

    Best wishes
