One more detail to add ... The "Combat Bucket " No self respecting crew should ever be without one!

From Plus Model and all soldered up, this will hang off the back. Just had a soak in white vinegar to remove the flux.

I'm disappointed...

I thought you were going to link them up to make up a belt...

You may jest... I do have the mission models .50 ammo belt- turned brass rounds and photo etch link...Too much for me just couldn’t roll the link tight enough to hold the rounds. Would of looked amazing though.

Not much time at the bench lately but manged to add a few more details to the build.
Found one picture along the way that showed an M10 with a liberated German tow shackle
hanging off the back lifting eye. Thought that would be a nice addition to my build.

Probably a Gucci bit of kit to have for the crew back in the day.

Talking of recovery ropes, popping mine together, using some copper braid on the kit eyes, one more eye to add and then primer time.

Crazy busy at work this week so bench time is limited once more, snatched an hour today though.
Thank you all for the great feedback on the build so far, its been dragging on and we are close. Tow ropes are being
worked on along with the side skirts, that is all really of the build that is left.

Bucket got some paint, primed up with Halfords finest and then I used just three colours to get a warn effect.

And one recovery rope, a real pain to fit but its now on
:frantic:

Same concoction as the bucket in terms of paint, the only difference being some light rust paint and graphite pencil to give a metallic sheen,
Washable dust added to the front end where it would weather the same as the wagon would.

Nice work. Do Vellejo clearly mark their paint squeezy bottles to show if they are formulated for airbrush use, or thick formula for brush use?

Vallejo model air is supposed to be airbrush ready but I have found that it needs to be further thinned down to get it through my Airbrush (0.3 needle). I’ve not had much success in getting Vallejo through a airbrush with less that a 0.3 needle though but I’ve just picked up some air brush vallejo flow improver though so I’ll report back.

I thinned down Vallejo model colour and tried to get it through a 0.4 and 0.6 needles. I gave up, it was too messy. As a results is Colour for the brush and Model Air for airbrush and brush. Mig I find works well undiluted with 0.4 whereas Tamiya (1 part paint to two parts thinner) works well at 0.3.

Cheers chaps, So the time on the M10 is drawing close and I have to say that it was a really enjoyable build.
Typical Tamiya quality and the right balance of detail and part count. As they say " Job - Jobbed " No more kit parts to add
:o

Thank you all for following along with this build and leaving some great feedback and likes, its all very much appreciated people, next up is a bench tidy as its full of crap.
