Builds Tamiya 1/35 Cromwell

I'm surprised you haven't replaced/drilled out the BESA? hull MG barrel with your level of detail skills! Looking very good btw :)

can’t remember who raised that a page or two ago but I quietly ignored them as it’s too late to put brass ones in!

They will have to be drilled at some point but there’s plenty of time as I’m another week away from finishing it at this rate

Been in the garden all day so bugger all done and tomorrow is a new head gasket on the Land Rover, which should be a barrel of laughs….

It’s slow progress with me doing one thing a night at the minute

not sure what do do about the drivers hatch - no detail inside so maybe closed.

I've just paid LR to have that done! Lucky, 'cos they found two weeping core plugs while they were in there. Then on the test drive they found the water pump was 'making a noise' which I couldn't hear, but I saw the bits. Very wobbly impeller bearing.

Going to cost a few bob, but it is a damn sight cheaper than LR in the UK! Plus it's done 280k km, so I guess I owe it a bit of tlc!

PS - your Landy appears to have lost a cylinder........

What have you got? I shudder to think how much this would have cost if I’d stuck it into a garage. It should be a 2 hour job but I’d expect to receive a bill for 6 or 7 hours if they de coked it (which they never will….)

Bit more progress. It’s actually going to be a shame to paint this as it will cover up all the bloody work!

Just having a play with this shot. Still got to get the brass brackets on the shovel. Pick axe handle is obviously done.

Those tool brackets are bloody amazing, they look as if you can just undo them and remove the tools prior to painting

thank you. I’m really pleased with how they have turned out. Hopefully the shovel brackets will be OK also. Still got lots to do unfortunately. It’s a real faff

Nice wing-nuts Si

I started on the shovel this morning and I've dropped a bit and cant bloody find it anywhere, which is an utter pisser as it means I cant do the shovel without it.

I'm amazed I've managed to get this far as well to be honest. What's clear to me is you need some pretty bloody specialist tools to be modelling with parts this small - you cant imagine how tiny these bits are from the piccies - they are absolutely minuscule. I'm managing with standard modelling tools, which is why I keep dropping things!

Keep at it fella!

Not sure what to do about the bloody shovel now..... I may use one bracket and cover over the one that's missing with a cam net
