    I've had a quick search both on here and the wider internet, but I can't seem to find a definite answer on the way fitness are assessed for the RSD; there seems to be two conflicting sets of information. I understand there is the run and jerry can carry, but what else?

    Is it the standard push ups, sit ups and heaves?
    Or simply the 40kg bag lift?

  2. OK, i have in front of me the TA and FTRS Physical Training Policy dated 29 Jul 11, i understand a new version has recently been published but i have yet to receive it. The policy states that for the recruit selection weekend the following assessments should be carried out;

    Risk reduction run (1.5 miles in PT kit in under 14 mins)

    The next weekend PSS (TA), i dont know what PSS stands for, but this includes the following assessments;

    1.5 miles in PT kit - 10.30 for Para, 12.45 for inf, 13.15 for RA / RAC / etc and 14.00 for other arms and services
    Power Bag Lift (capped at 40 kg)
    RMT (jerry can carry) - capped at 150m

    Like i said there is an amendment due out and will repost when i receive it. In the meantime, hope that helps.
