TA Centenary - How do you think it should be celebrated?

And in true TA style, we will arrive to find that the celebrations have been cancelled and the message hadn't got through. (Plan B is that the chefs couldn't turn in that weekend and Plan C that no-one thought to order the food.)

And for these reasons nobody will give a sh1t how the centenary is celebrated because we, The TA, take the p1ss out of ourselves! Do you think that none of the above happen in the Regular army, or do you really see the TA like some sort of Keystone Cops outfit? If you do, why are you in it?

While I've got a sh1t on, how about this:

1. like anyone else celebrating their 100th birthday, we get a message from the monarch (in the form of a medal)

2. We ensure that the said monarch has paid us for every days service that we have given (bounty included)

3. We get on with life!!!

The people who matter to the TA soldier, are his mates in the TA. We know what we mean to each other, what we would do for each other and, if no-one wants to throw us a party and have us p1ss about in 2's......so fuc£ing what!

Well said, that man!

But on a commemorative note, would it be beyond the bounds of possibility for the Royal Mint to produce a set of coins with the reverse suitably embossed? Commemoration plus a sneaky bit of nation-wide advertising.


(And perhaps a limited edition crown presented to past and present members of the TA? - or would this take as long as the production of the Telic medal?)
