Compensation? For what?
Well lets go arrest every fcuker who has a myspace account then. Just because the bloke is a bit strange/odd/eccentric(delete as appropiate according to wealth), doesnt make him a mass murderer. This bloke, if indeed innocent, is now going to go through a nightmare for the foreseeable future if he remains in the area. And thats only if he is lucky.
I hope - If proved innocent - this bloke gets a massive payoff. This fcuking ridiculous country constantly pays out millions to asylum seekers, jailed drug addicts, etc etc, so if this bloke gets his life ruined by the vigilante mod then he deserves moving and protecting.
And for those of you who have never served in HM Forces - which is an unfortunelaty(sp!) large amount of this site - Most squaddies have been with a whore at some point. Germany, Kenya, Belize, etc etc, the list goes on.
What's it got to do with his Myspace account? He was someone who knew all the girls intimately, was trusted by them enough that they would happily jump into his car and disappear into the night, and probably didn't have an alibi for the times in question. I would have been very disturbed if they hadn't arrested the bloke in the short term. For all we know the plod may also have found some bits of female underwear that he had legitimately obained as 'souvenirs' or god knows what other evidence that looked dodgy at first sight.
As for his reputation in the area, it's as clean as whistle provided the real killer is banged up successfully. The fact that he was held by the police in one of the biggest murder enquiries this country has ever seen, and then released without charge after a few days isn't going to hurt him. In fact he is cleaner than you and I, because we haven't been given a clean bill of health by the investigating team. He has.
The publicity that has apparently 'tarnished' him is also now busy telling the whole world that the police think he's innocent, so compensation? Not a chance, nor should there be.
